Vodafone India Goofed Up on Twitter

In our earlier article we had written about Vodafone India’s policy of discontinuing inactive mobile numbers i.e., numbers with no voice calls (incoming/outgoing), no SMS and no data usage for a continuous period of 60 days. Just to make sure industry leader Airtel has a similar policy I tweeted the following message to Airtel.

@Airtel_Presence I just read on @TelecomTalk that like @VodafoneIN you deactivate numbers unused for 60 days. Is it true?

This message paved the way for interesting tweets from Vodafone India. Here is the screenshot of the entire conversation.

I was surprised to see the message that Vodafone was unable to contact me. Primarily I am not a Vodafone customer and furthermore in this case it was not even necessary (I didn’t ask them either) to contact me over phone!

Earlier I had seen genuine Vodafone customers expressing their disappointment over Vodafone’s tweets of being unable to contact them. Seeing their tweet it seems to me that it has become their standard practice to say that someone was unavailable Occupied when they called! I made it a point to ask the same immediately but so far I have not received any reply from them.

This is not the only case even @sanjaybafna @mandycrazy23 have faced issue and what not we even requested for a call back from our official @telecomtalk id on Dec 15th they assured we will get call but today so far after 9 days we haven't received any calls from Vodafone India Twitter team.

Our Take : These days users are more connected over social networking sites. While operators are also present there, people send complaint or feedback to them. But if they fails to respond they will fail the pulse of the users which will eventually lead to port out by the customers.

For some operators like BSNL, MTNL, MTS India etc SNS platform is another way to share happenings, but leading players like Airtel, Aircel, Idea, Vodafone, TTSL have also included customer care services on their SNS presence. Why can't it be better?

Are you a victim of Vodafone India False call assurance do share your views .
