Efficient 5G Rollout

Nokia stated that service providers generally face the challenge of finding additional space for 5G antennas on towers and rooftops, and its IPAA+ helps to overcome this hurdle. The modular design of the IPAA+ offers a solution to this issue, allowing for a faster and more efficient 5G rollout.

Wide Range of Frequency Support

Nokia stated that its IPAA+ supports a wide range of frequencies, from 700 MHz to 2.6 GHz, including the crucial 3.5 GHz 5G band. This adaptability ensures a versatile and compact antenna solution that empowers these service providers to deploy 5G services with ease.

Collaboration with CommScope

Nokia stated that it had developed these latest versions of IPAA+ in collaboration with CommScope. Optus is deploying a customized - Optus-Specific - variant incorporating a 2.3 GHz 8T8R array. This customization streamlines the deployment of both 2300 and 3500 TDD bands within the same antenna footprint, ensuring optimized performance.

Interleaved Passive Active Antenna

"IPAA+ addresses a major pain point for customers by enabling a single integrated 5G antenna to cover all sub-6GHz 5G frequency bands, simplifying the deployment process. These solutions are designed in accordance with feedback from customers," stated the release statement.

By adopting Nokia's IPAA+, One NZ, Optus, and TPG Telecom are accelerating expanding 5G coverage, benefiting consumers and businesses across the Oceania region.
