Similar to Xiaomi, Realme is also pushing software updates to its smartphones on a regular basis. After releasing the Dark Mode to its latest phones like the Realme 3 Pro and the Realme XT, the company is now seeding the same feature to the Realme 2 Pro that was launched 14 months ago in August 2018. The November update for Realme 2 Pro brings November 2019 security patches, Dark Mode and a few other new features to enhance the user experience. Going by the changelog posted by Realme on Realme Community forums, the update also brings redesigned notification centre style. Realme says the update is rolled out in a staged manner to ensure the stability of the OTA.

Realme 2 Pro Gets November OTA Update: Check What's New

Realme has been seeding monthly OTA updates to its smartphones with latest security patches coming directly from Google. The November OTA update for the Realme 2 Pro is here and it brings new features to the year-old smartphone. Firstly, the update adds Dark Mode inside the Settings app of Realme 2 Pro and users can make use of the new feature to save battery life. According to various studies, Dark Mode on smartphones saves a decent amount of battery life, especially on phones with AMOLED screens. While the Realme 2 Pro has an IPS LCD panel, it's not bad at all to have the Dark Mode as an option.

Besides, the update also brings November 2019 security patches, and yes, the Realme 2 Pro is probably the first phone to get the new security patches as Google is yet to release November OTA update to Pixel smartphones. The ColorOS November update for Realme 2 Pro also comes with redesigned notification centre style, but the complete details are not known at the moment.

The update also adds realme Laboratory, data switch between two SIM cards in the notification panel, improved apps support for Clone Apps functionality and it also allows users to swipe left or right to dismiss message notifications.

As mentioned above, the update is being rolled out in a phased manner, according to Realme. "In order to ensure the stability of this OTA, it will have a staged rollout. The OTA will be randomly pushed out to a limited number of users today and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs. If no critical bugs are found, the full rollout will be completed in the upcoming days," says Realme.

ColorOS 7 India Launch to Happen on November 26

In other news, Realme's parent brand, Oppo is all set to launch ColorOS 7 in India on November 26. Yesterday, Oppo India sent out media invites to 'Save the Date' for the unveiling of ColorOS 7. That said, ColorOS 7 for Realme smartphones will be close to stock Android and it was confirmed by Realme CEO Madhav Sheth already. For Oppo smartphones, ColorOS 7 will come out with new features like new app icons, redesigned UI, app drawer and so on.

The first smartphones in the line to get ColorOS 7 update will be the Oppo Reno 2 series including the Reno 2, Reno 2F and the Reno 2Z. Realme will likely announce the ColorOS 7 update for its smartphones at the November 20 event where it will be launching the Realme X2 Pro and Realme X2 smartphones.
