BSNL Goes Gig, Launches FTTH Plan of Rs 777 With 0.5TB FUP and 50 Mbps Speed

After giving a run to private telecom operators in the mobile tariff plans segment, state-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is going after the private broadband operators who're offering an insane amount of FUP with their broadband plans. BSNL has introduced a new monthly FTTH plan of Rs 777 offering a speed of 50 Mbps. But the best part of this plan is the 0.5TB FUP it comes with. It seems like BSNL introduced this plan only to lure new users and make them join the network. And it's an FTTH plan, which is a good thing. This plan also gives unlimited voice calls to any network in the country, which is an added bonus.

This new plan goes by the name BSNL Fibro Combo ULD 777 and will be available on a pan-India basis starting June 12, 2018. The monthly charges for the plan is set as Rs 777, but a user can avail the same for one year at Rs 8,547; For two years at Rs 16,317 and for three years at Rs 23,310. As mentioned, this plan gives 50 Mbps of download speed at 500GB FUP. Post the 500GB FUP, users will be able to enjoy data speeds of 2 Mbps.

BSNL will also be offering one free email ID and 1GB of free space for the same. As a security deposit amount, the circle authorities will collect one-month charges, which is Rs 777. As mentioned, this plan from BSNL also gives unlimited voice calls (local+STD) to any network within India. There's no FUP limit for the voice calling though.

Customers are required to hire the plan for a minimum of one month. Speaking of the eligibility, this plan is valid only for new FTTH customers and not for new BSNL broadband users.

This new plan has been introduced after the launch of monthly broadband plans with daily data offering. Recently, BSNL unveiled four new broadband plans of Rs 99, Rs 199, Rs 299 and Rs 399 offering daily data benefit ranging from 1.5GB per day to 20GB per day. The base Rs 99 plan gives a total of 45GB FUP, while the Rs 399 plan offers 600GB FUP. All the four plans are valid for 30 days from the date of availing.
