Motorola has scheduled a launch event for unveiling its 2018 smartphones in Brazil on April 19. The Moto G6 lineup consists of the Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus and the Moto G6 Play. Ahead of the launch, renders and live images of the Moto G6 Play are leaked online, while the standard Moto G6 has been listed on Amazon US and Canada websites which revealed the complete specs of the device. The Moto G6 features dual rear cameras, and the Moto G6 Play will come with a single rear camera. The specifications of both the devices are impressive too, but the G6 Play's processor (Snapdragon 427) will be a huge letdown for many people in 2018.

Speaking about the renders of the Moto G6 Play, it shows the 18:9 display on the front with Motorola logo placed on the chin, the same Saturn ring at the back housing the camera and LED flash. The Moto G6 Play is said to come in two colour options- Gold and Indigo. The highlight of the G6 Play will be the fingerprint scanner placement; It's housed inside the Motorola dimple at the back, which is nothing new, but manufacturers have long forgotten this. The device will come with a micro USB port and of course, it will retain the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Moving on to the specifications of the Moto G6 Play, it will come with a 5.7-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1440 × 720 pixels. The device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 427 chipset, mated to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There will be a microSD card slot for storage expansion. The renders are leaked by a Twitter user named Ishan Agarwal.

The phone will have a single 13MP camera at the back and an 8MP front-facing camera. It will boot Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with a 4000mAh backing it.

Then we have the regular Motorola Moto G6 smartphone which was listed on Amazon US and Canada websites before the official launch. The Moto G6 will have better specifications than the Moto G6 Play. The standard G6 will have the same 5.7-inch display, but with Full HD+ resolution and it will be powered by the Snapdragon 450 SoC. The device will be made available in 3GB of RAM and 4GB of RAM options with onboard storage of 32GB and 64GB respectively.

The Moto G6 will house dual rear cameras and an 8MP selfie shooter. The Amazon listing suggests the phone will last for a single day with a single charge, hinting at a smaller battery. Rumours say that the device will boot Android Oreo out of the box with a 3000mAh battery. The Moto G6 will be available for purchase in Indigo, Silver, Rose Gold and Black colour options.
