Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), in January 2018 surprised one and all by pulling back the Sunday free calling offer on broadband, landline plans with effect from February 1, 2018. However, the company quickly learnt the lesson and extended the offer for another three months. For the unaware, BSNL' Sunday free calling offer will expire April 30, 2018. Last time, the company has extended the validity of the offer due to massive demand, and we're expecting the same to happen this time around as well.
With most of the popular broadband plans, BSNL is offering Sunday free calling offer, and it even has some dedicated landline calling plans which offer free unlimited voice calling on Sundays. Free voice calling is something which separates BSNL from the other broadband service providers, and it also attracted many users to join BSNL's broadband network. Thankfully, BSNL changed its decision and hopefully, it continues to offer the free calling going forward as well.
Introduced back in August 2016, the Sunday Free Voice Calling offer from BSNL was an instant hit, and there are several users spread across the country who just doesn't want BSNL to kill this offer.
For the unaware, BSNL offers free voice calling with some of its broadband plans, and as stated, there are some dedicated landline calling plans as well. With the broadband plans, BSNL even offers free night voice calling, and the telco already made a massive, uninspired change by revising the free night calling timings to 10:30 PM to 6 AM from the earlier 9 PM to 7 AM. This change is already effective though.
BSNL will be under serious pressure going forward as its counterpart Reliance Jio is all set to foray into the broadband segment, and it's also expected to offer free voice calling bundled with broadband plans and may even launch a new set of landline calling plans. It will be interesting to see how BSNL tackles the threat of Reliance Jio.
