HMD Global will be bringing back a new good-old Nokia feature phone to the market today. Remember the Nokia 8110 feature phone launched by Nokia back in 2008? HMD is reportedly launching the same Nokia 8110 feature phone with modern feature phone features. Nokia has an event scheduled later today where the company is expected to launch the Nokia 1 Android Go device, Nokia 4, Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 9 smartphones. Alongside these phones, other feature phones such as the Nokia 8110 (4G) and Nokia 3310 (4G) are expected to be launched.
As reported by Gizchina, the 2018 edition of the Nokia 8110 will arrive with 4G LTE support. The device will also run YunOS, which is Alibaba's custom skin. The Nokia 3310 4G variant which was launched in China recently also arrived with the same YunOS. Also, the Nokia 8110 (2018) is expected to offer hotspot option as well, which is a much-asked feature by consumers across the globe. It will also offer Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options. There will be a single camera at the back too.
And this package will be backed by a 1200mAh battery and the phone will arrive in several colour options such as Yellow, Black, Cyan and more like the Nokia 3310 (review). And the price of this feature is rumoured to be 79 Euro (approx. Rs 6,300). The Nokia 8110 will be made available in leading countries from May as per the report.
Ever since reviving the Nokia brand last year, HMD Global has done a great job. But the company' strategy of launching famous older Nokia phones such as the Nokia 3310. In fact, in some countries, the Nokia 3310 was the best selling feature phone, and it also helped the company get into the top five feature phone companies in some markets including India. So HMD will be banking on the same success with the Nokia 8110 as well. But again, these are just rumours, and there's no confirmation on this from HMD Global.
