Google has launched Gmail Go, the slimmed down version of the original version of Gmail app. The app is the newest addition to Google’s line of Go apps meant for phones with basic specifications or lower-end processors. The app is designed specifically for the Android Go phones. It is noteworthy is currently compatible only with devices running on Android 8.1 Oreo and later software versions only. Like all Go edition apps, Gmail Go is now lighter yet just as fast as the original Gmail App. In fact, the Gmail Go APK is much smaller in size, around 9.51MB compared to original app’s 20.66MB space. It takes roughly up to 25MB of space as opposed 47.28MB of the regular app.

The Gmail Go works like the regular Gmail app, though there are some additional features. There’s a new Smart inbox feature, which basically segregates emails and shows the important emails first. The inbox prioritises emails from friends and family, automatically filtering social and promotional emails.

Gmail Go also comes with an anti-spam feature which blocks spam before it hits the inbox. This protects user account from malicious activities and keeps it safe, secure and clutter free. Interestingly, you can also read and respond to emails both online and offline and find messages quickly with the powerful search engine.

Additionally, the app offers standard Gmail features like multiple account support, conversation view, attachments, and push notifications for new messages. There’s also 15GB of free storage, so don’t have to deal with the headache of deleting emails to save space.

Overall, the Gmail Go not only takes up significantly less space on your phone but uses less data than the standard Gmail app. It also works perfectly even in poor internet connectivity areas.

The new Gmail Go app is now available for download via the Google Play Store phone version. It joins the other Go version apps like the Assistant Go, Chrome Go, Gboard Go, YouTube Go, and Maps Go.
