Firstly, Detel introduced a new feature called 'Talking Feature,' which utilises the speaker at the rear to provide audio alerts while dialling a phone number, browsing contacts, etc. Detel launched this feature phone in the vision to  ‘Connect the Unconnected.'

Talking about the features of the Detel D1+, it offers dual SIM slot, torchlight, GPRS web browser, 3D speaker, microSD card support. Interestingly, the D1+ will be available in seven colour variants. The D1+ features 1.44-inch TFT display.

Commenting on the launch, Mr Yogesh Bhatia, MD, S. G. Corporate Mobility (parent company of Detel), stated, “We are glad to bring to our customers a feature phone that is not only economical & affordable but also caters to a lot more needs of the feature phone buyers in India. India is a price sensitive market and the consumers especially in tier- 2, 3 markets, and in rural areas are cautious about their spending behaviour”

Detel says it's aiming at the 40 crore people in India who still remain unconnected not just with the rest of the world but also within themselves. Detel has already disrupted the feature phone market with the Detel D1 feature phone earlier, and the company also partnered with state-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and offered the Detel D1 at Rs 499, along with free voice calling plan. There are no words on the BSNL offer availability for the Detel D1+ though.
