Asus, after launching an array of smartphones at the start of this year has been silent for a while and today, the company has announced the Asus Zenfone Go 5.5 with model number ZB552KL for Rs. 8499. Asus Zenfone Go

Asus claims that the overwhelming response to the Zenfone Go series has made them launch this product. As the name itself suggests, the newly announced Zenfone Go comes with a 5.5-inch HD display. Asus is also adding a blue light filter feature to the OS in order to reduce the strain on your eyes during the night.

The Zenfone Go 5.5 is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC, paired with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 306 GPU. The smartphone also comes with 16GB of internal storage and supports storage expansion via microSD card up to 128GB.

Optics wise, it has a 13MP primary camera at the back with f/2.0 aperture, and dual tone LED flash. Up front, there’s a 5MP camera for capturing selfies. The Asus PixelMaster 3.0 camera app offers multiple modes to enhance the photography experience further such as – backlight (HDR) mode, low light mode, manual mode, real-time beautification mode, etc.

The device comes equipped with a 3000mAh battery, and it boots Android 6.0 Marshmallow based Zen UI 3.0 which offers features such as double tap to wake the phone, gesture controls, etc.

Commenting on the launch, Peter Chang, Region Head – South Asia & Country Manager for ASUS India said, “We have always ensured that we empower our customers with products that perfectly fuse technologically advanced specs and a classy, sophisticated design. With the immense success of our previous versions of Zenfone Go, it was befitting that we expand this range to meet the copious demand. We are sure that this smartphone will help our users across the country live digital lives.”

The Zenfone Go 5.5 comes with connectivity options such as the 4G LTE, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB OTG. The device will rival with the Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime and Coolpad Note 5 Lite. The former has better hardware than the Zenfone Go 5.5, but the latter uses a MediaTek chip, which is the only let down with it.
