Xiaomi's been known for bringing value-for-money devices to the technology arena. When introduced the Mi 4 in India, it got a few critics talking that it had slightly overpriced the device. This was followed by flash sales of the device which lasted hours instead of seconds. Xiaomi seems to have understood the mistake it made with the pricing and has finally decided to reduce the price of the device. The Mi 4 will now retail for Rs 17,999 (16GB model) and Rs 21,999 (64GB model) instead of the earlier Rs 19,999 (16GB model) and Rs 23,999 (64GB model).

Its main competitor, the OnePlus One retails for Rs 18,999 and Rs 21,999 for the 16GB and 64GB models respectively. It additionally offers 4G LTE connectivity which the Mi 4 misses out on. The two are closely matched in terms of specifications  and the price cut has also brought them at par in terms of pricing to spoil the customers for choice.
