Motorola changed the game in the sub-Rs. 10,000 price segment last year when it launched the Moto E (1st Gen), but Xiaomi swooped in to spoil its party but the fact that Xiaomi and other upcoming Chinese manufacturers have a limited footprint ensured the success of the Moto E globally. Last month, Motorola globally launched the Moto E (2nd Gen), and both come in 3G and 4G variants. Out of these, the 3G variant was launched yesterday in India for Rs. 6,999. The 4G variant is better equipped than its sibling in terms of processing power and its launch is also being awaited in the country.
As per the top gun at Motorola India, Amit Boni, the 4G variant of the Moto E will launch in India in the next two months. So we can expect it to arrive here by May, exactly an year after the first generation of the Moto E broke cover. It is priced at $149.99 globally which translates into approximately Rs 9,000 and will come to us as a sub-Rs. 10,000 device.
