Samsung Galaxy J1 launched in India for a price of Rs. 7,190

Samsung had announced the Galaxy J1 last month. The company is now all set to unveil the smartphone in India today. The Galaxy J1 will go on sale via Amazon India, for a price of Rs. 7,190.

Amazon India tweeted the news on its official India account. Moreover, in addition to unleashing the price, Amazon has also promised the consumers with a bunch of inaugural offers.

In terms of specifications, the Galaxy J1 comes with a 4.3-inch WVGA (800×480 pixels) display, and is powered by a 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 dual-core processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. The device has 4GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card.

The smartphone sports a 5-megapixel rear camera along with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It is backed by a 1,850 mAh battery, and supports connectivity options such as Dual SIM, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. On the software front, it runs Android 4.4 KitKat.

The Galaxy J1 is yet another device by Samsung, which has received lukewarm customer response globally. It will face some serious competition in India from the smartphones like Xiaomi Redmi 1S, Huawei Honor Holly and the Lenovo A6000, these devices not only boast better specifications, but also have more affordable pricing.
