Right from the time it was announced, the Asus Zenfone 2 has aced the popularity ranking. It is the first smartphone to come with 4GB of RAM (if one gets the higher specification variant). The high-performance variant is powered by a 2.3GHz Intel Atom Z3580 quad-core CPU.
On the other hand, the $200 variant of the smartphone will be based on the Z3560 (1.8GHz CPU) and will have just 2GB of RAM. The image below is an initial comparison of the performance in AnTuTu 5.5.
The 2.3GHz/4GB version of the Asus Zenfone 2 has got 43,809 points, while the 1.8GHz/2GB version settled at 40,926. Interestingly, the difference in the CPU performance is not at large despite the 500MHz gap in the clock speed. However, the RAM scores better for the 4GB model, the difference is somewhat double.
Moreover, that is just a single benchmark and, as known by many, benchmarks are not fully accurate at measuring the multitasking experience anyway. Below is a quick comparison chart between the Zenfone 2 and other 2014’s popular devices.
