BSNL has been on the overdrive recently and the way they are prepping up new offers supports the fact. BSNL had come up with an excellent offer wherein they would reward the subscribers with free 50MB of data for every topup above Rs.100. This time they have tied up with Andhra Bank to come up with a unique co branded Mobile wallet/ prepaid card service that will help consumers to make purchases online hassle free and in a more secure way. The project will be implemented by Pyro, a solutions based company in Hyderabad.

How does it work?

Mobile wallets are the most secure way of paying for online purchases as the danger of bank account being hacked doesn't exist. The Prepaid wallet aren't linked to one's bank account. Users need to recharge the prepaid wallet online and then they can use the recharged sum of money for the online purchases just like how they do with debit card.

Players like MobiKwik, Paytm and PayUMoney are already in this arena but they focus more on the payment gateway integration part for the merchants. If executed brilliantly the prepaid wallet can be the next big thing from BSNL.
