Yesterday, Google launched the Motorola Nexus 6 and the HTC Nexus 9 in India. Today, Google has announced that the Chromecast is now officially available in India on the eve of GOSF 2014, the yearly online shopping festival in India organised by Google. Google has partnered with the e-retail giant Snapdeal and Airtel to being the Chromecast to India at a price of Rs. 2,999. The Google Chromecast, which was launched 16 months ago in the US, is a thumb drive sized portable media player developed by Google. It connects to any display, TV, or monitor through HDMI connection and streams content from a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or a PC wirelessly over Wi-Fi.
The Chromecast can mirror your Android smartphone or tablets entire interface on to the display it is connected to, so you can use all the apps or games on your television or even stream content from popular apps like YouTube, DailyMotion, DownCast, Google Chrome, Google Play Music, Google Play Movies & TV, TED, TuneIn Radio, etc. You can even use apps like Google Slides to showcase your presentations on big screen displays in the meetings. Then there are a bunch of high-quality apps like Plex, LocalCast, and AllCast, which offer streaming local media files stored in your smartphones onto the Chromecast connected display.
The best thing about Google Chromecast is that it works with iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Mac, and PC. It is a simple device with very little learning curve and it is available at such an affordable price. I would advice everyone with a monitor/TV with HDMI and a Wi-Fi router to buy Google Chromecast.
