30, 28, 15 used to be the magic numbers for users. Now Airtel is all set to change the game by revising the validity period of its Data packs (25, 21, 14), in an attempt to increase its data revenue .
Airtel New 3G Revised benefit details (Mumbai circle)
Consumers opt for these packs based on their requirements. It is difficult for users to keep track of their pack's validity. These dual 2G + 3G pack benefits not only confuse the customers with technical difficulties but also the retailers who find it difficult to suggest these packs to customers. Therefore, the objective of introducing such kind of products is not fulfilled completely.
I have also heard opinions of users who keep away from such packs to avoid confusion. Making the smartphones latch to a specific network (2G/3G) with the options provided is also problematic. We now expect other operators to follow suit in coming days.
Below is the screenshot of SMS messages as shared by one of our regular readers.
To conclude in short - Due to limited options, subscribers end up selecting packs which are not always the best for them. Dear readers, what do you have to say regarding the new validity period? Do let us know via comments.
Note: Discussed packs are as per SMSs received in Mumbai circle. May or may not be applicable in other circles and the views expressed here are based on the information taken from screenshots only. Do check with Customer Care before subscribing to any of the packs above.
