Its again Tata DOCOMO who are ringing the bells and driving India crazy with their new service in the offering. Its 3G which is making headlines all over the telecom industry.
Tata DOCOMO today announced that its is goin to launch the 3G services on November 5th and will offer the FREE 3G access up to 100 MB for the first 7 days (Nov 5th – Nov 11th midnight) to its subscriber in approx 20 cities in all the nine Circles where it has the 3G license.
The commercial 3G services would be available from the mid-night tomorrow, that is November 5 morning on the day of Diwali in Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, UP (West), Punjab, Haryana and Maharashtra telecom circles.
For more details or activate the 3G just SMS ’3GLife’ to 53333.

It will not be available in every village… 3G has just launched.
You will have to wait, once big cities are covered, then smaller towns, then possibily you can look out for villages.

AMIT G you dont need to “convert” from 2G to 3G … instead just goto
(Nokia Series 40 JAVA phones)
SETTINGS -> PHONE -> Select NETWORK MODE as DUAL MODE
(selecting only UMTS will not allow you to use 2G in case 3G coverage is not available)
(Nokia Series 60 SYMBIAN 5th Edition)
SETTINGS -> CONNECTIVITY -> NETWORK -> Select NETWORK MODE as DUAL MODE

Dude if u take my advice then pls go for 7.2mbps modem. the cost diff between 3.6 & 7.2mbps modem is 800-900rs but since u cant change modems again n again its better to be wit latest side or else u ll feel outdated. AND ALWAYS GO FOR UNLOCKED HUAWEI MODEMS.

Service launch and signal availability are two different things. Tower ready nahin rahega to 12 am se signal kaise milega? Aur agar tower ready hoga to signal to pahle se milega. Jis area mein towers ready ho gaye honge wahan signal abhi se mil raha hoga aur jaise jaise different areas ke tower ready honge signal milne lagega. Jahan tower ready nahin hai wahan 12 am ke baad bhi kuchh nahin hoga.

Aircel 3G Service Signal is Now Available in Bangalore(in Some Parts) Surely They Will Going To Launch in January Or March. And in Most of The Cases These Biggies (Airtel, Idea and Vodafone) are The Dirty Operators Who Can Share The Network With The Other Operator in This Case IDEA is Sharing Aircel 3G Network in Karnataka for Roaming Purpose

That’s nothing new boss. These 3 biggies always join hands so that they can rule indian telecom industry. They have made indus towers. They back each other for taking any decision at coai. So they will surely join hands to make 3g pan india. In case of orissa circle they may approach STel.

It will be available on selected cities only. I have seen many people are saying that 3g will be available to the whole region from today midnight as they have 3g ready network. How come is it possible to provide 3g with just 3g ready infaststature? They have to deploy umts bts in your area to provide you 3g, as simple as that. By any ghostly manner you can’t expect 3g from today midnight if you don’t have 3g right now.

BSNL is too giving 7days unlimited 3G and 200MB for a month. So Docomo is following the BSNL way.

1. No 2g set can’t give you any difference as it doesn’t support 2100MHz band or 3g band.
2. Chances are very rare….but 3g will give more voice clarity.

Docomo now rocks…….after getting popularity it will suck….definitely….don’t think that docomo is so stupid that they will give 3g at super cheap rate after spending crores at 3g auction….i just want to see those people who are in 3g fantasy world created by docomo after it launches 3g tariff plan.

u might be facing gprs problems dat used 2 occur @ d start…i too was facing same prob…so was using airtel in dat time….and once i noticed dat de fixed it..i again started using docomo gprs…so me happy 2 use it with no probs yet…

Yes,DSOUZA. I am an AntiTATA.I was cheated by TATACellular, TATAVSNL, TATAINDICOM, TATADOCOMO,…etc. At first i felt atleast TATAs has some business ethics compared to others, but in real experience it is true that they are such cheaters. But you dig into them and analyse their tricks, you will come into my way.
1. TATAcellaular cheated me by giving fake bills ( same timings multiple calls made for long durations——ever happens???????)
2.TATAVSNL–I requested for shifting of Broadband from one place to other, disconnected at source and didnt connected at new place due to lack of port and sent me 2 months of bill saying i must pay—i roamed to their office many times for fight, even i handed over routers and taken ackonowledgement. They sent me lawyer notice for that two months rent
TATAINDICOM–made an online recharge thru bank and sucess from bank and never got money to my mobile
TATADOCOMO–oneday they say unlimited gprs and in 2 days limit comes–publicity tricks, taken new SIM and activated GPRS unlimited, used unlocked datacard, gsm connects and no browsing–customercare helpless to get me gprs—finally lost money
what is there to talk +ve about TATAS????????????

Only 7 days are not enough they need to offer minimum 15days to attract more subscribers, to resolve tech issues n nw optimisation, othrwise after a week no one can ask or think abt docomo (DO COmmunication MOre) 3G.

TATADOCOMO will have 3g signals only in the high class people areas initially and they will slowly expand the coverage to middle class areas and then lower lass areas

Docomo 3G network live in Cochin,[Palarivattom]. I’m getting video call menu and 3G logo, and even a browsing speed ranging between 400-700 kbps on my windows mobile. Also i’m on roaming in Kerala, and there is no Docomo 3G in Chennai.
