Motorola DEFY Launched In India For Rs. 18990

Motorola Mobility, a subsidiary of Motorola, Inc. today announced the launch of slim, pocket-able and “life proof” Android 2.1 (Éclair) based 3G smartphone Motorola DEFY in Indian market for Rs.18990.

Motorola DEFY is a slim and pocket-able smartphone that comes equipped with a 3.7” high-resolution, scratch-resistant touch screen display that provides edge-to-edge views of your favorite websites, photos and videos.

The device is scratch and water resistant as well as dust proof, protecting you from life’s little challenges such as spilling liquids, a sudden rain shower or a drop in the sand. DEFY also features CrystalTalk PLUS to vanquish noisy environments.

Motorola DEFY is designed to handle everything that life throws your way. With all the features consumers expect in a smartphone, It is a quad-band GSM phone that will support 3G networks with RF of WCDMA-UMTS 850/1700/2100, GSM 850/900/1800/1900, HSDPA 7.2 Mbps (Category 7/8). The device packs Web browsing, entertainment and messaging capabilities.

    Certainly in my buy-list if they promise 2.3 gingerbread,comes with 2.1 and announced 2.2 update really pissed me off… (also, moto has been known for very delayed updates)

    @kochikkaran google officially support video calling only on android 2.3 and above. there are no android phones under 20000 offering video calling.

    @saket wave runs on samsung bada (not android).

    sanjay ji is it having dual camera…. i would like to see a low cost Android within rs 20000 with video calling facility … i think most of the android phones which are released under rs 20000 are without the video calling facility….i don’t know why these android phones not supporting video calling …. at the same time most nokia phones in this price range is having 3G,wifi and video calling … only problem with nokia is their outdated symbian…. if you have a suggestion for android phone with video calling and under rs 20 k price range , pls let me know… it will be useful…

    if u compare it with samsung wave 2 …. which one is better as it is offering anaroid 2.1 and wave 2 is offering 2.2 OS………

    does flash 10.1 work on defy. even if it is through unofficial means(rooting, custom roms etc)?
