Moto X Play receives OTA update for Reliance Jio VoLTE support

Motorola launched the Moto X Play in India in September. The device is in the news again for the latest update, which brings 4G VoLTE support for Reliance Jio onboard. The OTA update version number is 24.61.70.en.03.

The update also brings security fixes and stability improvements. On the installation page, it is mentioned that the update will take approximately 30 minutes of time. During the installation, users won't be able to make or receive calls on their device. This drill is default all the major updates on a smartphone. Under the cellular network settings, the enhanced 4G LTE mode option will now be available after the update.

To recap, the Motorola Moto X Play features a 5.5-inch 1080 IPS LCD display, an octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB RAM, 16/32GB internal storage, a microSD card slot, water-repellant body, and a large 3,630 mAh battery. It is also equipped with a 21-megapixel primary camera with dual-tone LED flash, ƒ/2.0 aperture, 1080p video recording, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

This update introduces changes including the following:

VoLTE SupportEnables voice over LTE support for Reliance Jio SIM cards.
Android SecurityIncludes the updates of Android security patches until May 1st 2016.
Stability ImprovementsIncludes changes that fix bugs and improve the stability of your phone.

NOTE: You cannot downgrade to a previous software version after installing this update.
