    Most of Samsung handsets are low end chinese hardware.

    Brother, there is a difference in outsourcing manufacturing to Chinese factories and bulk buying from Chinese cottage industry. Even iPhones are manufactured in China, but then apple does the R&D and testing and they make the manufacturer stick to a set quality standard. This is very different to what Mictomax does. Micromax and its ilk just scour for the cheapest deals with small Chinese factories, negotiate on a bulk price and buy off the products and ship them off to India to dump them here. The keyword here is “DUMPING”. They do this because the Margins are great, Indian Laws are Lax, and doing research and validation in labs requires serious investment. Something none of these so called Indian brands want to do. They just want to make money while the sun shines. While established Brands like Sony, samsung, LG etc. do some short of testing even for their cheapest phones because they are accounted for and hence cannot bring out an model into the market without clearing approvals for a minimum set of safety regulations.

    Perfectly Said Dhiraj. Micromax is just a bulk importer of Cell Phones manufactured in workshops in China, like Videcon, Onida, Spice, iBall etc etc. They only deal with outright purchases and sales of chinese phones with no R&D capability of their own. Best part is, when searching on google for Manufacturing facilities of Micromax phones in India, one only gets to read reports of long stalled plans of micromax promoters intend to set up manufacturing facilities here at India. But considerable time has passed since then, and yet there has been no updates yet or any actual ground work on of any greenfield facility to this effect. And you, the common man of India, are only putting lives of your own as well as of your dear ones at Risk. There was recently a case where a chinese mobiles burst spotaneously right on a child’s face in Maharastra and the boy had to lose one of his eyes in the accident. His poor father could only blame himself for his decision to go for that shiny china made cell phone which could do all that a 10000 nokia could do for a fraction of the cost. The only thing the father can do for the rest of his life is to repent while his helpless child suffers for the rest of his life for no wrong doing of his own. People need to ask themselves, is it worth loosing a limb for saving a few hundred rupees. Even reputed brands are now coming up with decent handsets for very economical rates. And when any big brand releases a handset in the market, there is a lot of research and testing done on the circuitry to ensure the model meets the set safety and regulatory standards. I urge every one to play safe. Buy from reputed manufacturers only and help in forcing these chaeting indian resellers to stand up and start actually manufacturing their mobiles in India, thus in turn providing employment to people here in India.

    Micromax should focus now on the quality aspect also. Still their handsets are nothing in comparison to Nokia and Samsung.

    @Pratik Gujarathi
    Mr. Pratik, why you want this phone / technology in other brands. Micromax is a core Indian Brand, and let us support our own brand!!, FYI Micromax is one among the best Brand’s and they are not behind in producing quality handsets with unbelivable price tags.
