The !-Plan of Idea Cellular looks exactly similar to that of myPlan of Airtel with similar kind of offerings. Our sources also believe that other Operators may soon follow this suite of offerings to their Postpay customers.

We have to wait and see if Idea cellular removes all it’s existing postpay plan offerings to it’s new individual users and only provide !-plan just like Airtel myPlan or provide these plans in addition to other plans available with options to migrate to other plans as well.

Dear Readers stay tuned for our Analysis anytime soon :) .

How did you feel about these plans from idea cellular? Are you ready to take them? Let us know via comments.

Only difference between airtel myplan and idea !plan is the SMS plan
idea offers 150 sms and airtel offers 400 sms on its value pack
All other offers remains same including the default tariff of 50p/min

As per my exp prepaid is cheaper than postpaid. Also now a days we have dualsim mobiles which have made even easier. e.g. compare idea post paid plan 249 with rcom recharge 148(500 minutes) & 156(3g 1GB). In postpaid we need to pay service tax also.

FINALLY operators are moving in the right direction: reducing the number of plans they have in their systems. Experience of a decade plus with Indias largest telco has taught me that the more the plans an operator has, the higher the instances of errors : both at the customer care executive level and also at the end system level. I welcome this move to a 5 plan offering. If someone is not happy let them go elsewhere. …. which is where?

These kinds of plans Docomo launched before. Now Airtel launched “Myplan” but i think these are more ‘EXPENSIVE’ than structured bundled plans. Airtel withdraw all good plans like now Idea also came with these plans. In my circle Maharashtra, Idea offer very expensive tarrifs to both prepaid & postpaid connections, customers are using Idea network because of their good network coverage, but other operators are also improving their network day by day. So Idea should focus on good cheap tarrifs/plans. Don’t copy these types of stupid plans.

Operators wanted their customers on per minute plan with default rate of atleast 50p/min
soon I think per second plans will come to end

  • SS December 28, 2013 9:06 pm

Utter stupid this is. I hate these my plan, i plan and bla bla. The older plans of idea are the ones that most people prefer as if we couldn’t take prepaid if we want such freedoms.
Like of docomo, its going to be a big failure for sure.

vertualy compition is ended in Indian telecom sector. this is not good for custumers as well as for telecom sector. Trai should look in this matter. this is an another example of cartelisation.
