India’s leading GSM mobile Service operator Idea Cellular has launched two new GPRS Packs at Rs.98 and Rs.5 for its prepaid mobile service users in Tamilnadu & Chennai telecom circle.
Idea Cellular’s Prepaid subscribers in Tamilnadu & Chennai circle can opt this service by paying Rs.98 per month or Rs.5 for 1 Days access. Both GPRS packs will works on Mobile Phone as well as browsing through PC or Laptop.
The GPRS Pack of Rs.98 will provide Internet browsing and Downloads up to 100 MB (Data Transfer) per day free for 30 days from the date of recharges while with Rs.5 customer can access GPRS up to 100 MB for a day.Post free usage Rs.1/MB will be charged for Data usage.

i try to activate 3g for my prepaid number, but i m not able to get it. no response from idea cellular, i even ask customer care excutives they gave me one number *147*37#. i used aircel for the past 7 years if i gave any request they solved in maximum one day. but not in idea. i try to activate 3g . lot of request send through sms.but no response,, now i think its better to change to docomo.

idea edge network is very bad in kolkata…the speed do passes 256kbps during nigt time but its nt stable at all…in brief its very very slow..

Idea launches GPRS pack finally for Mumbai also.. RC 98 will give 2GB per month but in the format of 70MB daily for 30 days. If usage crosses above 70MB in a single day then Rs.5/MB for extra usage..
Another RC 8 will give 70MB usage with 1 day validity and it is auto renewal until you unsubscribe it… So Idea is started giving GPRS pack where they have recently started to operate…
But Old circle like Maharashtra still not getting any offer from Idea for Cheap calling or for GPRS pack of for SMS pack.. Still they have just RS.30 per day Unlimited Gprs Pack and it auto renewal. (i.e 30*30=Rs.900 per month!!)

Most of the Idea karnataka customers are facing tis prob, ter tariff suddenly changes without any request, yest one of my friend’s plan also got changed… Idea is the useless network in Karnataka, Spice telecom was good in this category, even though they didin had good network they never used to change plans… Even it had economical plans. I still remember my tariff which was best for me, RC for 799 get 100 talk value, Every month get 400local mins ( 200 s-s & 200 s-o) free for a period of one year, Mesgs @ 1p/sms. call rate after free mins s-s @ 30p s-o @50p… NO rental

the reason for best plan in TN is only Aircel. Aircel is the first operator to launch free incoming scheme for 666 monthly rental.they are so competetive so others have to match it. this is the reason. Not the politicians.

Yup we cant video at avg speed but we can download rite?? it takes less than 20mins for me to download 40mb file( whic may be a v song or Software). So 100mb/day won be sufficient for some users… If u jus browse for 1 hour 10mb will be drained..

Yup even i have heard tat Idea’s data speed(including net setter) is quite good in kerala with 25-30kilobytes/sec. I have used Idea net service in karnataka but speed is very worst only 10KB/sec max During night & 4-6kB/sec during day time, so Idea won be a good option for Data service in karnataka, Even Airtel’s speed is worst & here both operate @ 900mhz band

in kerala they had launched similar offer two weeks ago. 97rs recharge 69mb/day. post usage 5mb/day. fabulous speed about 25kB/s more than any other operator in kerala

everyone is launching excellent gprs in tamilnadu only or first there. mumbai has no place in the hearts of mobile operators. only because the telecom minister mr.raja is from tn, every mobile operator is licking his feet to please him by first launching products and services in tn and providing the best tariffs and plans there. mr. gurudas kamat inspite of hailing from mumbai/mh and being mos for telecom is doing nothing for his own people. shame on him.
also, now vodafone is the only mobile operator in india left without a gprs pack. so much for being no.2 gsm mobile operator. ain’t vodafone ashamed of this. mumbai/mh vodafone customers should dump vodafone for being such a hijda and useless mobile operator.

It’s still worth, if u surf daily, with average of 100MB, u can surf for 3-4hrs easily. there is absolutely no problem in 100MB/day. it’s only paiful fot those who are doing heavy download, , they shud use unlimited plan from OTHER ISP
why not attractive, it’s 3GB yaar, more than all other operator.
