Videocon Mobile Services, the latest entrant in Mumbai has now started offering SIM-KITS for FREE but need to be recharged with any of the 1 FRC of denominations 31, 61 or 101.
The SIM KIT will immediately grab your eyeballs as most of the pack contains GREEN GREEN and only GREEN.
Videocon Mobile Services SIM KIT is a bit different and it even includes a flyer flap which contains all the details regarding the Videocon Brand which includes information about Videocon TVs, Refrigerators , Air conditioners, dth and also about its Mobile Phones.
The SIM Card comes in a GREEN, GREEN And only in GREEN theme. Although, I didn’t have to wait to get my hands on the SIM as they were easily available at all the Planet-M outlets, ya but when I’ve asked about the SIM KITS in the local Mobile shops, most of them told that they were yet to receive the stock of the SIM CARDS.
POSITIVES:
1. The great positivity about the videocon mobile services is its STRONG network as it is currently using the Loop Mobile’s “Nxt-Gen” IP enabled network.
NEGATIVES:
1. As every thing has some Pros & Cons, this one too has some nativities, like Videocon has still not cleared the picture about its own network launch, when Videocon will launch its own network it will not be able to use the network of Loop Mobile and what if customers don’t get the best quality network which they were enjoying of Loop Mobile in the initial stages.
2.The current offers launched are not at all exciting to attract the customers.

1. Before Purchasing Videocon Sim card from a Planet M outlet or a Next Retail store, just check for a BETTER deal from your nearest mobile seller.
In Bandra (W), near the Railway station i have seen a Mobile shop which was offering FREE SIM CARD + if you Recharge FIRST with Rs 25, you will get a talktime of Rs 66 and also if you make a FIRST recharge of Rs 50, you will get a talktime of Rs 125…,

Before February 2011, Videocon was also not charging roaming in Maharashtra circle but now they are telling that their tie up with Vodafone & Tata docomo for free roaming in Maharashtra circle has got canceled! Now they are telling to wait to get their own IND 835 network that is Maharashtra Circle Videocon network to launched then only roaming will be removed.. so better not to use Videocon till then now..

I hate videocon because it charges roaming at maharashtra circle.till bhayandar station home network ind836 and at vasai creek the next station naigaon just 6minutes distance from bhayandar it charges roaming at naigaon.vasai virar region other no operator charge roaming from mumbai to maharashtra circle.so dont use videocon

Specially for ROM circle where all other operators gives incoming free for Mumbai circle users while in Rest of Maharashtra circle and most of operators also gives Home Network tariffs while In ROM circle… So what tariff Videocon is offering for Mumbai circle users when one is visiting to ROM circle??

Videocon Mumbai or Maharashtra network is not available in these areas (Ulhasnagar, Ambernath, Badlapur, Vasai, Virar, Bhiwandi) even loop mobile signal is not available here

it seems as if videocon wanted to launch a telecom service and have started doing so..
there isnt any sort of brand ambassdor for the company as far as i know to endorse this product.
there isnt also anything interesting about the service as well…
no sort of plan…which is low and affordable… same old…50p/m for local mobile….re1/min for landline…boring yaar!!
as i far as i am concerned this is yet a another company who is providing sim cards!!!

Missed Called Alert free for 90 days?? Their incentives are downright BSNL-like.
DoCoMO realizing they were late to the mobile party revolutionized things by thinking outside the box. In addition the per second pulse that extended nationally, they threw in Missed Call Alert and more importantly Voicemail all for free. Not to mention the SIM cards kits were free or marginally priced with double or triple the talktime for the cost of initial Re-Charge.
Videocon on the other hands seems to be rolling out their services believing it’s 2006 or that the IQ of the Indian consumer has plummeted south of 90.
They could have at the very least matched the incentives of the established players and then thrown in goodies like free incoming across all their circles thereby taking the roaming war to another level. Or be uber aggressive on DATA packages or introduced cheap subsidized handsets since they have such a huge footprint in consumer electronic manufacturing.
Until then this is probably gonna garner a one giant collective Yawn from the Indian mobile consumer who’s by now pretty savvy with all the choices being offered to them.
