3G Spectrum Allotment Will Start Today

The Government of India will start allocation of 3G spectrum to telecom companies that bid the highest in the May 2010 3G auction.

Earlier the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) had set the deadline to September 1 for allocation of 3G spectrum.The defence forces had already released two slots of 3G spectrum before the auction.

Leading Mobile Service operators like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Essar, Reliance Communications (RCOM), Aircel, Tata Teleservices, Idea Cellular, and Stel had bagged the 3G spectrum. RCOM forms 3G Business Team, Plans 3G Innovation Lab

Reliance Communications, India’s largest integrated telecom operator (GSM and CDMA) is now making a fast progress towards readying itself for the 3G-GSM led opportunities.

Moving up the ladder, in an all India bid for 3G spectrum, the company has won 13 circles including the metros of Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata and is the only operator without capacity constraints on 2G in these circles. BSNL Launches 3G Mobile and Data Services in Madhya Pradesh

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) launched its 3G GSM mobile and High Speed Wireless Internet services (3G Data services) in Indore, Bhopal, Chhindwara, Parasia, Sausar, Junnardeo, Damua and Sehore city in Madhya Pradesh Telecom circle.

Speaking on the launch of 3G services in Madhya Pradesh, Ganesh Chandra Pandey GM, BSNL Bhopal, said 3G Mobile and High Speed Data Services now available for postpaid and prepaid customers in 9 Cities and BSNL will launch 3G services in all major cities and towns including all District headquarters across Madhya Pradesh by September.

MTNL – Nokia Drive To Give Customers 3G Experience in Delhi

In its endeavour to provide experience of high quality next generation telecom services to customers, India’s first 3G Mobile Opeartor, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) join hands with worlds largest mobile phone maker Nokia and launched 3G Experience Zone in Delhi telecom circle.

MTNL and Nokia have come up with 3G drive under which customers can walk in to any Nokia Priority Dealers (NPDs) stores in Delhi telecom circle and take 3G services experience of Video Calls, High Speed Wireless Internet, Live Mobile TV etc.

BSNL Launches FREE Video Call Facility for 2G Subscribers in Kolkata

In an attempt to provide greater benefits to the GSM mobile service users, Pan India 3G mobile service operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) announced the launch of Free Video Call facility for its 2G GSM subscribers in Kolkata telecom circle.

Under the BSNL’s Free Video Call Service offer, its Postpaid and Prepaid 2G-GSM subscribers in Kolkata will be automatically up-graded for next generation mobile services to provide the video call facility by default irrespective of whether customer is having 2G handset or 3G handset. However the High Speed 3G Data services will not be available for 2G customers along with this offer.

BSNL’s Postpaid and Prepaid 2G customers using 3G handsets will be able to make video calls in 3G coverage area just at 30p/minute for Local and STD Video Calls to Read more…

Keeping its stride of providing better and affordable 3G Internet services, BSNL has come up with super attractive new 3G Data Plan for new customers at Rs.785 which provides  Free Downloads up to 18 GB. It comes with the validity for 90 days from the date of recharge.

MTNL Ties up With Tanla Solutions to Deploy Video Mail Services

India’s first 3G Mobile service operator Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL), today collaborated with Tanla Solutions Ltd, a leading Mobile VAS solutions provider to deploy the Video Mail service over its next generation 3G Mobile services in Delhi and Mumbai circle.

Video Mail service will help MTNL’s 3G Mobile service users not miss any Video Calls even when they are not in 3G service area. It is very similar to the voice mail service of 2G network,  subscribers use Video Mail to leave a message in the form of video to any other 3G service subscribers anywhere in India.
