BSNL Launches SMS Alert for Landline and Broadband Subscribers

India’s National telecom Backbone and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) today announced the launch of Free SMS Alert on Customers Services of its Landline and Broadband Services in selected Telecom Districts or  SSA in various telecom circles across India.

With the new service, BSNL landline subscriber can get Free SMS Alert on their BSNL or Non-BSNL Mobile numbers for Landline Invoice generated, Birthday/Anniversary Wishes, Land line’s Fault booking, Fault clearance, Payment Reminder (2 days before due date), 80% Broadband Usage alert for limited plans users and Payment acknowledgements.

Initially the SMS Alert Services are available in 19 Telecom districts named Bhubneshwar (Orissa), Bhopal (MP), Balasore, Dehradun (Uttranchal), Hyderabad, Hassan, Kodagu, Jammu, Kamrup (Assam), Kalyan (Maharashtra), Lucknow, Meeruth (UP) Jaipur (Rajasthan), Raipur (CG),Tejpur (Assam), Tuticorin, Tirunelvelli and Vellore (Tamilnadu).

Recently BSNL starts to upgrade its existing landlines Billing systems and commissioned new CDR based Customer Care and Convergent billing system to provide the new services on its PSTN networks. The new system will be able to offers various tariff plans and add-on services which are presently possible only in mobile services. The company also plans some new customized tariff plans which will be announced shortly.

How To Activate-:

To Activate the SMS Alert Service, BSNL Landline/Broadband subscribers in above City/SSA can send SMS to 09404001111, The SMS  format is : <STD Code landline phone no>< space ><Account Number.> as printed on their BSNL landlines bill.

    Broadband weekly usage details can be obtained on your mobile as sms by registering @ http://bbusage.bsnl.in/ with Broadband Username (the one which is used in Connection set up and not the portal ID)

    That is very nice initiative taken by the BSNL, it is good that we will receive SMS alerts from BSNL regarding bill payment.

    With the new system BSNL can able to offer more customized plans on Landline phones, plz read full news.
    Presently BSNL hold approx 85% market share in Landline and Broadband Business and it has 28 million fixed-line subscriber Across India.

    Hello Sanjay bafna, today i was able to make Video call from my 5800 xpress music & it was fantastic but When i tried to connect to Internet the same prob occured as it used to occur in data card (connection terminated). Wat would be the prob?? i asked cc but nono of them are giving satisfactory answers

    2 yr. back when i had a bsnl landline @ my home i always had to visit my exchange for the bill every month coz bill was never delievered at my place,, Its surely a nice move by bsnl, i appreciate this greatly!!!
