After a long delay State-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) finally today launched its much awaited 3G mobile services in Hyderabad the capital city of Andhra Pradesh. The 3G services allow telecom operators to offer Video calls, high-speed Internet with speed Up to 7.2Mbps and live mobile TV facility.
The core 3G UMTS network for next generation 3G GSM mobile and HSPA Broadband services is live in 29 cities and towns across the Andhra Pradesh along with 23 district headquarters named Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Medak, Warangal, Rangareddy, Nalgonda, Mahbubnagar, Khammam, Anantapur, Chittoor, Cuddapah, Kurnool, East Godavari, Guntur, West Godavari, Krishna, Nellore, Prakasam, Srikakulam,Visakhapatnam (Vizag) and Vizianagaram apart, places include Tirupati, Kakinada, Bhimavaram, Prasanthi Nilayam, Shamshabad Airport, Medchal and Patancheru Industrial Area under test mode.The commercial launch of the 3G service in all the districts/cities will be gradually launched by the end of this month.
The existing BSNL 2G prepaid mobile subscribers can migrate to 3G services just by one SMS “M3G120” to 53733 while Postpaid 2G subscriber need to send M3G25 to 53733.
The new subscriber can buy 3G Prepaid Connections at Rs.59. This 3G starter pack contents U-SIM (3G Sim card), after the activations of 3G SIM card the customer has to recharge with the FRC-120 for the desired 3G tariff plan which provides the lowest tariff for voice, video calls and Data usage.The new 3G subscribers will get 50 free video calls and 25 MB Data usage as an welcome gift.After recharging with the 3G FRC-120, users can enjoy Local Voice and Video calls at just 30 Paisa per minute and All STD video calls will be chargeable at 50 paisa.
With the launch of 3G services in Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh) now BSNL has 3G Mobile Service and HSPA network are available in about 320 cities in various telecom circles across India.

Please give me list of areas where the BSNL towers are 3G active. Myself and my friend have video call facility and we are in RCI, Vignanakancha (PO), Hyderabad-500069. There is no 3G signal within our RCI campus. First of all I want to try out whether it will function or not. Pl. do the needful.

Once we obtain the sim, which is free to landline cosumers, how do we pay the bill, is it included in the regular recharged?bill or we need to recharge, if so where do we get it

Thanks BSNL, we are progressing leaps and bounds from 2G to 3G, but the employees are neither tranied nor their support to consumers is flexible. They are still stuck to their to say 9-5 job, whereas half the time you dont find them in their seats, if u complaint they along with colleagues slap a wrong report on you.
I am such victum, and my phone is not working since a month, though broadband is working but with plenty of disconnections. I have not launched a complaint, as I will have to undergo a series of argunts, as my time of availabity does not match with their working times, thanks to a few linemen who understnd and are obliges, by coming, but their superiors, they are stuck to their old ideas.
Appreciate if some steps are taken to upgrade the support services, and either train the staff of recruit some trained staff who can solve problems instead of creating problems

Firstly North Zone got 3G services then East Zone got now South Zone also got 3G services. Only West Zone is ignored now!! When 3G is going to be available in Maharashtra’s cities of Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Nagpur, Kolhapur, Solapur, Nanded, Ulhasnagar area and in Gujarat area of Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Baroda and Madhya Pradesh area of Indore , Bhopal, Gwalior ..

Yes, BSNL is picking up speed in increasing the 3G coverage now, since 3G auction process is now relatively speeded up.. Once the 3G auction again delays, I think BSNL will once again slows up…
