Yes, BEAM may be the most economical, and popular B Band in the city BUT their customer service SUCKS!!. Had tried to contact them for a connection, their executive contacted me after 3 days. Was out of station then, Contacted him again after coming back he came, inspected the premises assured that he would come back with his technician guy and the required forms for filling. It is a week now and am yet to see him again. Called him many times and he promised to turn up shortly but HE NEVER DID!!! Fed up with this attitude am forced to switch to BSNL’s 1 MBPS Plan, as i already have a land line. When the executives make you run around for a new connection, I am afraid to think what would happen during breakdowns!! So much for BEAM Broad Band, I had enough of IT!!!

Would like to keep you informed, that due to the huge success of Beam in Hyderabad, other big players have changed their packages too. Which means they are really affected by the presence of Beam which means, donot BEAM uncounted among the big BB Players. Its an upcoming brand, which understands customer. At a personal level, I am very happy with the service and the value packages provided by BEAM Fiber in Hyderabad.
Even though the inflation is in its own peak, but BEAM FIBER is really understanding the increased pocket burden of its customers, hence they are providing the Best Packages at the value prices. CHEERS to BEAM FIBER!!!!!

BSNL shoud offer special plans for Hyderabad as BEAM offering

BEAM is available only in Hydrabad, but not Bsnl which is present in every nook and corner of this huge country providing BB access to masses. So to sustain its economic health, it cannot compete with “creamy layer BB providers”. Just think about an ISP and the required infrastructure, then its operational costs and moreover the back haul connectivity it needs to provide the service, does’nt they require a huge investment or not? by charging Rs.1000/- for a 10 Mbps connection, how can they recover their capital, will their business be viable? if they are registering losses then how long they can survive? are they having enough resources to withstand for such long periods? all these questions need to be answered. It will be near to impossible for them to survive in a country where the inflation is more than 10% year on year.Let us wait and see what happens to these tiny players.

I live in telecom nagar, next to very large bsnl campus, but they don’t have any lines available for giving new landline and dsl connections. I live very near to tikona tower, but the speed is worse than GPRS coonection and customer service only exists to collect the bills. Beam is the best option, I had lot of service disruptions last year due flyover construction (their cables getting cut), but much better this year. Still losses connection intermittently, but speed is awesome at costs only 1k.

@Kanaga Deepan N
They should call it 1Mbps Limited and 512Kbps Unlimited Plan
S.Sudhakar April 4, 2012 at 4:10 pm
To all users :
The upload speed in ‘Tikona’ broadband will be only 25% of the bandwidth or 512 Kbps. Still waste company with waste plans.
BEAM broadband plans look good and cheaper than BSNL. I hope the customer care is good in BEAM.
BEAMS’s really ‘FAIR’ usage policy : beamtele.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=59&Itemid=13
.
BEAM plans : beamtele.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=149&Itemid=91
Kanaga Deepan N April 4, 2012 at 2:25 pm
They should call it as “512kbps UnLimited plan”…
anurags April 4, 2012 at 1:59 pm
again abuse of the word “unlimited”…they should call it a dual speed plan!!!!!
novicefreak1 April 4, 2012 at 1:40 pm
IMHO, Not worth! Better options 10Mbps speed from Beam @ Rs.1000, YouBroadband @ Rs.750.
BSNL needs to rethink its strategy altogether. It is sustaining because ppl have LL number since many years, once LL number portability comes up BSNL would suffer a major setback.
Even in 3G when all over India 3G combo data plans are made available, here in Hyderabad, nobody knows about such scheme. Pathetic 3G service.
