1. I am interested in buying the BSNL wireless data card. I presently have Reliance data card which provides very poor speed in Assagao, Bardez, Goa.
2. Will the BSNL data card work well in Assagao?
3. Will this card also work in Mumbai?
4. Please give me the BSNL office contact phone nbr & address.
Thank you

Surjeet kumar roy December 10, 2011 at 12:44 pm
Try to look for a reliance connection.if reliance 3g is in your area purchase a reliance 3g modem and 2g/3g plan.even u can get reliance cdma1x which gives good constant speed.use reliance sim in ur mobile.that will satisfy u and bid bye to bsnl.if reliance is not there switch to vodafone.

Hi all, I am from Orissa ( jashipur ), I have 1 3G enable Data card of CAPITEL, procure from BSNL office, keonjhar. 1st I was planning for 3G but later I come to know, it is not launched in my place, so I go for 2G Sim. Now the issue is download speed is very very poor (1 KB/s or less), as browsing is not a issue, its almost ok ok type. Initially i was not getting full tower in my Sim, but now its almost having 4 signal bars, still i m not getting the speed, I am using my BsNl sim in modem & connect it with DELL INSPIRON, OS- windows7.
I will be grateful if someone will help me, A download speed of 10 kb/s for constant is more than enough, as i m not expecting much from it ( I recharged with 270 rupees n got 39999.99 as my balance for 30 days )
Kindly let me know if by any setting i can get a higher download speed…
If possible mail me in Kepash08@gmail.com
Thank you.

BSNL gives 256kbps speed for unlimited and low cost plans. For limited plans the speed is high and has been clearly shown in the website.

ek drop pani pine ke liye kya 2500 rs mein water tank kharid na parega???bogas…give the speed 21.1mbps then sell ur 14.4…
Ganesh November 8, 2011 at 2:15 pm
Oh crap! 2.4 MBps or 3.6MBps or 7.4MBps or 14.4MBps, BSNL will artificially reduce the speed and just give 256kbps!
Who needs to get this damn modem anyway!

why so… On my rgsm no. My avg download speed is around 25KBps and it has touchd a maximum of 42KBps….evn my airtel and aircel crosses 30KB mark…

Sudhakar November 8, 2011 at 9:35 am
To Steve and aditya mohan DAS :
There are only some people who USE unlimited plans. Most of them exploit and misuse the unlimited plans in such a way that they cross 50 GB within a month. This is the reason why operators do not launch unlimited plans.
Please note that in CDMA (in all data plans rev A, rev B-II etc) the speeds will be further reduced to 32 Kbps (dead slow) after reaching certain limit. But in BSNL 3G we can get full bandwidth till we have balance. There is no speed capping. So we should be happy ateast for that.
Click telecomtalk.info/nothing-exciting-on-tata-mts-rev-b-roll-out/81295/ and look at the speed of TATA docomo photon max (6x). Then you will understand.
Saurabh November 8, 2011 at 9:24 am
BSNL reduces data usage in Rs.270 plan. Now offering only 6GB instead of 10GB. Checked it on BSNL Haryana website. No changes on main website. See the difference, Reliance offering 6GB in Rs.99 with 30-32KBytes/s speed in my area and BSNL offering 6GB @Rs.270 with 2KBytes/s.
3G mein data kamm kiya, ab 2G mein. It doesn’t affect me as I’m not a BSNL user.
Reliance and Idea Zindabad for me.
wincent November 8, 2011 at 9:23 am
what are the FRC… ERC….?????
Saurabh November 8, 2011 at 9:17 am
Don’t you really don’t know or are you kidding? Btw here is the answer. In India operators have currently deployed 21.1Mbit/s HSPA+ network(which is a sub-part of third generation/3G wireless networks). But in actual we are not getting that much speed as backhaul infrastructure is capable of 7.2-14.4Mbps. Only Reliance is the exception here which is providing 15-20 Mbit/s speed on their 28.8 Mbit/s HSPA+ network using MIMO(Multiple Input-Multiple Output) technology. HSPA+ networks can be upgraded to a maximum of 168.8 Mbit/s. Maybe in coming years you will see upgradation to 42.2 or 84.4Mbit/s on HSPA+ in India but the thing that will matter is the availability of phones/devices that can supports speed upto these marks and their prices.
On the other hand 4G is fourth generation of wireless network that is capable of providing speed between 100Mbit/s-672Mbit/s. In India, operators like Reliance Infotel, Augere, Bharti Airtel, Aircel, Qualcomm etc. which holds the BWA spectrum are expected to start 4G services soon using LTE networks. But do we actually get that speed practically? The answer is NO. Anything from 32Mbit/s to 48Mbit/s is expected but not more than that. The LTE(Long Term Evolution) which is termed as 4G is actually not a true 4G network and is categorized by ITU as 3.9G. As per them a true 4G wireless network will be capable of speed from 168-672Mbit/s.
In simple words the basic difference between 3G and 4G is more in terms of of data transfer speed than anything else. Maybe the latency will get reduced to 25-50ms on 4G as against 85-100 on 3G.
One more thing LTE is not backward compatible to 3G just like 3G wasn’t backward compatible to 2G. We require to setup whole new infrastructure for 4G.
Susanta November 8, 2011 at 8:34 am
@Rishi
if Reliance will launch 4G at the end of time who knows they could hiking their price again nd they might charged for incomeing call !!!!!!!!

TRUE WITH BSNL ISSUE.
HSB November 7, 2011 at 11:46 pm
Does anyone know the difference between 3G 21 Mbps and 4G ?
HSB November 7, 2011 at 11:44 pm
In which state are you experiencing 14.4 Mbps speed ?
Manjunatha November 7, 2011 at 11:22 pm
Herein Hyderabad
I am facing acute network issues, call drops and pathetic 2g speeds. No Stable 3g signal. Problems persists wit docomo ( call drops, poor reception), BSNL( customer cares never cares ). really difficult
aditya mohan DAS November 7, 2011 at 10:48 pm

aditya mohan DAS November 7, 2011 at 10:47 pm
YES ITS TRUE WHAT THE BENEFIT OF SPEED WITHOUT UNLIMITED THINGS ARE GOING WORSER AND WORSER ALL INDIA NO GIVING UNLIMITED IN 3G EXCEPT MTNL BUT MTNL LIMITED TO DELHI MUMBAI ONLY
Lovegin November 7, 2011 at 10:30 pm
BSNL No1 worst service in india same like as their employess
steve November 7, 2011 at 10:20 pm
Without unlimited plans, 3G does not make sense.
novicefreak1 November 7, 2011 at 10:19 pm
true??? what a good news it will be…
btb where is the source that Reliance will launch on 27dec 2011
Sudhakar November 7, 2011 at 9:41 pm
To Susanta and Nilesh patel :
Well said. Unlimited plans can be introduced with FUP. After FUP, each and every user must get atleast 512 Kbps.
Sudhakar November 7, 2011 at 9:35 pm
There are 21 Mbps modems (with upload speed 5.76 Mbps) in ebay.in . Go to the site and type 21 Mbps or HUAWEI 21 Mbps in the search box and press enter. Then you will know the current trend in 3G data card pricing.
I think Huawei E182E will be very good modem for surfing in 3G.
ved November 7, 2011 at 9:25 pm
How will buy it better to buy 4G modem after two mnths as Reliance is going to launch 4G on 27 dec 2011 and by 1qtr all india and too 4G modem is of arround Rs 3000………..hats off to Reliance ……..
Nilesh Patel November 7, 2011 at 9:08 pm
BSNL indoor 3G connectivity is really bad… Need to Improve that
Need to reduce data charges and re-introduce the unlimited 3G plans
Need to provide constant min 3.6Mbps first and then think act 14.4Mbps
Which cities have their towers upgraded to 14.4 need to be asserted first……
One thing is sure in BSNL guys…if u have problems…..talk to the superiors of that area…like circle heads or state heads….things improve very fast unlike private operators..
Ramesh November 7, 2011 at 9:02 pm
Is it unlocked?
Rishi November 7, 2011 at 8:16 pm
Reliance Infotel(Mukesh Ambani Group) will introduce 4G in Jan2012. So, wait and watch upto Jan 2012.
novicefreak1 November 7, 2011 at 8:11 pm
BSNL….reduce data tariff first, provide indoor connectivity on 3G and then launch these….
adi November 7, 2011 at 7:47 pm
bsnl should decrease its 3g data plan
Rohan Singh November 7, 2011 at 7:44 pm
Has anyone got 14.4Mbps ..?? I have heard that they have upgraded their network to 14.4Mbps nationwide …
Susanta November 7, 2011 at 7:34 pm
Now a days price of 3G data so high nd that the reason there is no use to launch 3.5mbps or 14mbps or 30mbmps capable modem before decrease rate of 3G price. So its not a GOOD DEAL.
jijo November 7, 2011 at 7:18 pm
BSNL 3G should be priced based on speed. If one is satisfied with 3.6Mbps, why should he be charged as high as that of a 14.4 Mbps user. BSNL should do something urgently to bring down its 3G tariff based on speed, otherwise there is no point in offering 14.4 Mbps or the network supporting 21 Mbps.Middle class customers like me will continue with the present 3.1Mbps Reliance/MTS/BSNL EVDO, with much cheaper tariff and decent speed.
Joseph November 7, 2011 at 7:13 pm
First provide 3g coverage in my location then we can purchase it
Dev November 7, 2011 at 7:05 pm
usb 1.1 ????????? price is litle bit high….21mbps is 2800
epynic November 7, 2011 at 7:02 pm
@sunil we already have 21mbps supported network . . . ,
Saurabh November 7, 2011 at 7:02 pm
@Amit.g
In that much cost one can even buy 21.6Mbps modem.
Huawei E353 21.6 Mbps- 2100-2500 on eBay India.
Huawei K4505 28.8 Mbps- 2650 on I bought the same from their (IT Bazaar) shop in Chandigarh.
Amit.g November 7, 2011 at 6:50 pm
Even Huawei has reduced its modem price… one can get 7.2mbps modem @ 1500rs, so 14.4mbps will be available for 2200-2500rs!!!
sunil November 7, 2011 at 6:45 pm
What is the point in jus releasing the hardware up to 14.4 mbps unless the network supports it .
Its like u have the biggest glass but u still the same amount of wine as in the tiny glass
