Amazon has upgraded its Fire TV by adding more than 600 channels, apps and games within last three months, prompting it to rise ahead in market than Roku and Apple TV. Popular titles such as Popcornflix, Funny or Die, Candy Crush Saga and Fox News are among the new additions.
Besides, it has also secured GameFly streaming service to exclusively stream media devices on Amazon Fire TV. Through GameFly service, customers can now play popular series like Batman, Darksiders II and Dirt 3. Game Packs are available at $6.99 a month using which the customers can choose six gaming packs.
“The team is working hard and moving incredibly fast to bring even more movies, TV shows, live TV, sports, music, channels, apps and games to the Amazon Fire TV platform every week—and it shows. Amazon Fire TV selection has grown 127% in just the last 6 months, and is continuing to accelerate,” said Steve Rabuchin, Vice President Amazon Appstore.
The customers can simple connect Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV stick to the HDTV to access movies, TV shows, games and more. Voice search is enabled, which means the customers can say the name of the entertainment to watch to start enjoying. The games can be played with Amazon Fire TV game controller, which costs around $39.99.
