AIRTEL CROSSES 100 MILLION SUBSCRIBER BASE MARK

India’s leading mobile service provider and telecom major Airtel has announced that it has become the first service provider to cross 10-crore subscribe base across India.With 10-crore subscribers, Airtel has become the third largest single country mobile services operator in the world and sixth largest integrated telecom company globally. Bharti Enterprises Chairman and Group CEO Sunil Mittal has urged the government to announce a stable spectrum regime to boost growth of the telecom sector.

The Indian telecom sector, seen as providing the most affordable services in the world, has grown by leaps and bounds in the last decade. We are proud to have led the telecom revolution that made a positive impact on the lives of people in every corner of the country as well as the Indian economy,Mr. Mittal added.
Targeting 20-crore subscribers in the next 2-3 years, Airtel will be undertaking a series of network augmentation and customer service initiatives. We will roll-out over one-lakh base station sites by this year-end to set up wider and deeper network coverage across the country and establish a state-of-the-art customer service management center, besides setting up one-lakh Airtel service centers in rural areas by March 2010, he said.Airtel at present has 25 per cent subscriber share and 30 per cent market share in terms of revenue. It is only behind two Chinese operators in terms of subscriber size measured within a country.

    emad ,its my experiance that i told i start using mobile from the begining when mobile service launched in India,started with escotel,then Bpl now on airtel i have reliance Gsm also but to my experiance Airtel is the worst.daak seva which will be much cheaper that you know bcause u are used to it better carry on .

    i wondered on your stand :idea: as everyone know airtel has strongest netwrk of india and reliance GSM is so damn & worst connectivity
    airtel crosses 1 crore suscriber mark are all airtel customers stupid??? :?: a buissnessman can’t switch reliance because they don’t want to say hello hello instead of deal talk :mrgreen:

    in india, operators can be classified into these catagories- a. good netwrk -higher tariff – this includes older operators like airtel, vodafone
    b. newer operator, lowest tariff, netwrk worst – like R-Com GSM, aircel
    c.old operators, tariff is moderate n netwrk so-so : tata , bsnl
    R-Com CDMA is on moderate tarif, old operatr n good netwrk ….

    No its not true, may that happen in your case due to miss understanding but all over its not true. Airtel is the leading GSM operator in India and customer grievance system is there as all other operators, if anything wrong with customer and nodal officers are there to resolve any problem.

    person who commented here as proxi don’t know that idea and vadafone are damn worst than airtel. if all operators are bad you have not to opt one and don’t go for mobile just switch daak seva which will be much cheaper and honest for you

    Airtel is the worst service provider in kerala.its customer care is very bad.if somebody paid any security deposit to Airtel.then it wont be refunded and the money will be gone.so pls people dont go for Airtel.opt for Idea or Vodafone.
    Pls note pls dont pay any secyrity deposit for international Roamong or any other value added service .if so ur money will be gone.Airtel are cheaters.
