Yu Televentures, the sister brand of Micromax Informatics today announced a new entry-level smartphone- the Yu Ace in the Indian market. Priced at Rs 5,999, the Yu Ace offers a beefy 4000mAh battery, Dual 4G support and 18:9 display. The last smartphone from the house of Yu was the Yu Yureka 2 which arrived way back in September 2017. Now almost a year later, Yu has launched the Ace smartphone to crack the entry-level market. Yu Ace Specifications and Features

The Yu Ace is an entry-level smartphone, so it doesn't feature any groundbreaking features. The phone has a 5.45-inch HD+ display carrying a resolution of 720x1440 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by the quad-core MediaTek MT6739 chipset, clubbed with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Notably, Yu has launched the smartphone in only one variant, and the phone even has a dedicated microSD card for storage expansion.

This Android 8.1 Oreo device comes laden with Yu's Steroid Launcher on top. The company says it will roll out Android 9 Pie update to the smartphone sometime at the start of 2019. Connectivity options include 4G LTE on both SIM slots, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a Micro USB port resides on the bottom.

The Yu Ace is backed by a 4000mAh battery which according to the company will last for more than two days. Another best part is the device has a fingerprint scanner placed on the rear side. And to make the unlocking process easier for the users, Yu has also added a software-based Face Unlock functionality. The phone has a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera.

Yu Ace Pricing, Colour Options and Availability

As mentioned above, the Yu Ace has been launched in a single 2GB RAM/16GB storage variant, and it will retail for Rs 5,999 in the country. The phone is exclusive to Flipkart and the first sale will take place on September 6 at 12 PM. The device will be available via open sale after September 13, and at the launch event, Yu has confirmed the arrival of a 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant of Yu Ace by the end of September. For now, users can pick up the base variant in Charcoal Grey, Elektric Blue, and Rose Gold colour options. The 3GB/32GB variant will cost Rs 6,999.

Yu Ace vs Infinix Smart 2

In every possible way, the Yu Ace competes with the Infinix Smart 2 because they come powered by the same chipset. Both the devices offer Dual 4G support as well. But the Yu Ace has the upper hand in the battery department. The Xiaomi Redmi 5A also competes with the Yu Ace, but it lacks Dual 4G support, still runs Android Nougat-based MIUI and has a smaller 3000mAh battery inside.
