Of late, WhatsApp is hitting the tech headlines almost with each other day. Recently, it was talked about as it rolled out an option to migrate the chat history between Android and iOS devices and vice versa. Now, the Facebook-owned messaging platform has rolled out yet another useful feature.
Last month, WhatsApp was tipped to be testing a new feature that will let users view a larger preview of the images while sharing links. Now, this feature is finally being rolled out to the Android and iOS beta testers. Following the successful rollout, it will be released to the stable versions of the app.
WhatsApp Rolls Out Large Image Previews
The latest news, as hinted by the WhatsApp tracker site WABetaInfo is the rollout of the large link preview for the beta users. If it is not enabled for your account despite being a beta tester, then you can wait for 24 hours as it will be rolled out to you. If you are a beta user with the versions, WhatsApp beta for iOS 2.21.160.17 and WhatsApp beta for Android 2.21.17.15 are eligible to get the ability to view large previews prior to link sharing. You need to update your beta app to the latest version to get the feature.
As of now, WhatsApp shows a small thumbnail while sharing links. With the new feature under development, users will be able to get a larger preview image. Even the screenshot revealed by the report shows a larger preview. You will also get more content when you either send or receive a link.
Other WhatsApp Features
Besides this feature that will let users see a larger thumbnail of the link, there are other new features that users will get. One of the features is the ability to send disappearing photos with the View Once feature. The other aspect is the ability to migrate chats between Android and iOS versions of the app. It debuted with the newly launched Samsung foldable smartphones. Also, users can get the ability to join ongoing voice, and video calls after the calls have debuted.
