WhatsApp for Android and iOS will soon get a Boomerang feature which will also users to loop a video. If you're an Instagram user, then you must be aware of the Boomerang feature that's coming soon to popular instant messaging platform WhatsApp. According to a new report by WABetaInfo, the Boomerang feature in WhatsApp is still in development and it might take few more months for the Facebook-owned company to roll it out to the users. The report also highlights that WhatsApp will allow its users to convert a video less than seven seconds to Boomerang. In Instagram, there's a separate section where you can record Boomerangs of your own, but it seems like WhatsApp users will have to use the videos section itself to create Boomerangs.

WhatsApp to Soon Get Boomerang Feature: How it Works?

The report also has a video which clearly shows how the Boomerang feature on WhatsApp will work when it goes official. To post a Boomerang, a user will have to head over to the Status section> click the capture button and shoot a video for less than seven seconds. If the video is less than seven seconds, WhatsApp will display the Boomerang option on the top right. Right now, on the top right, we have two options- the standard video and the GIF option. Once the Boomerang feature rolls out, there will be another option to convert the less than seven-second video to a Boomerang. Also, the report highlights that the Boomerang feature will be available inside personal and group chats as well.

As noted, the feature is still in development stages and WABetaInfo did not reveal any information related to the availability of Boomerang feature to WhatsApp Android and iOS users. If WhatsApp's track record is anything to go by, we might see it going official in the next few weeks for beta users of Android and iOS users first.

WhatsApp Dark Mode for iOS is 95% Ready

In a separate tweet, WABetaInfo claimed that the WhatsApp Dark Mode for iOS is almost ready to go official. The company is currently in the process of tweaking the dark mode for iOS. For Android users, the dark mode might get delayed and the WhatsApp watcher also says the feature will be called 'Night Mode' in Android and 'Dark Mode' in iOS. That being said, we don't have any release timeline for dark mode as well from WhatsApp.

In other news, WhatsApp has recently confirmed that its payments service will go official in the country very soon. WhatsApp Pay will allow more than 200 million users of WhatsApp to instantly transfer money using the UPI. Alongside these features, WhatsApp is also working on several other features including group privacy controls, new sticker packs and a separate app for WhatsApp Web.
