Vodafone has revised its Rs 255 prepaid plan in the country and it now ships with a total of 70GB data benefit. Even Idea has revised this affordable prepaid plan which is available as an open market one across the country. Vodafone Idea has a Rs 255 prepaid recharge that takes on Rs 249 prepaid plan from Bharti Airtel which is still offering 2GB data per day. The Rs 255 prepaid plan of Vodafone now comes with 2.5GB daily data for a period of 28 days. Earlier, the same plan offered 2GB data per day, but after the introduction of Rs 299 prepaid plan by Bharti Airtel, Vodafone had to revise the Rs 255 plan to offer more data benefit. The plan now ships with 14GB extra data compared to the older data benefit. Also, it’s an open market plan, so any Vodafone prepaid customer in the country can recharge the plan easily.

Vodafone Rs 255 Plan Now Offers 70GB Data for 28 Days

Aforesaid, Vodafone’s Rs 255 plan is now shipping with 2.5GB data per day, up from the earlier 2GB daily data benefit. This move comes right after the introduction of Rs 229 prepaid plan, which is now offering 2GB data per day for the customers. And both the Rs 255 and Rs 229 plans are open market ones, so any Vodafone prepaid customer can perform the recharge. Besides the daily data benefit, the Rs 255 prepaid plan from Vodafone also offers unlimited voice calling and 100 SMSes per day for the entire validity period of 28 days.

The plan also brings Vodafone Play subscription to the customers allowing them to watch Live TV, Movies and over 10,000 shows. Overall, the Rs 255 prepaid plan from Vodafone is now providing 70GB of data benefit to the customers.

Vodafone Rs 255 Prepaid Plan vs Airtel Rs 299 Prepaid Plan

Airtel was the first telco to introduce a prepaid plan with 2.5GB daily data offering. A few weeks ago, Bharti Airtel launched its Rs 299 prepaid plan with 2.5GB daily data, but data benefit is not the speciality of this Airtel plan. Airtel is providing free Amazon Prime subscription worth Rs 129 to the customers with its Rs 299 plan, so Vodafone’s Rs 255 plan lacks on this aspect. Airtel’s plan also comes with unlimited voice calling and 100 SMSes per day for 28 days.

Vodafone Rs 255 Prepaid Plan vs Jio Rs 198 Prepaid Plan

Back in January 2018, Reliance Jio made a revision to its prepaid plans. Since then, the telco launched just the Rs 1,699 yearly prepaid plan and did not make any revisions to other plans because the telco believes they’re still the best in the industry. Reliance Jio has two prepaid plans of Rs 198 and Rs 299 offering 2GB and 3GB daily data benefit respectively, however, the telco is not providing any prepaid plan with 2.5GB daily data plans like Bharti Airtel and Vodafone.

Vodafone and Bharti Airtel also offering 2GB daily data prepaid plans of Rs 229 and Rs 249, so the competition is very narrower now. However, Jio still has the upper hand as it charges Rs 31 less than Vodafone and Rs 51 less than Bharti Airtel for the 2GB daily data plan. In the entry-level prepaid plan segment, even a minor price difference in the plans matter, so it’s Jio all over again.

Bharti Airtel Rs 249 Prepaid Plan Remains Unchanged

On the other hand, Airtel introduced a new Rs 299 prepaid plan as we mentioned above, but the company did not revise the Rs 249 plan though. Earlier, both Vodafone and Airtel offered 2GB daily data with their Rs 255 and Rs 249 prepaid plans respectively, however, Vodafone now has an upper hand with the Rs 255 plan as it ships 14GB more data compared to Airtel. That being said, Airtel’s Rs 299 prepaid plan offers 2.5GB daily data along with free Amazon Prime membership for one month at no extra cost. Vodafone, sadly, is not providing any Amazon Prime membership plan like Airtel.
