Vodafone India today announced the rollout of its Voice over LTE (VoLTE) services across Kerala. Vodafone users in Kerala with a compatible handset can now start using the company's VoLTE service, which offers HD quality and super fast call connect time. Vodafone Super VoLTE service is entirely free to use, and there will not be any additional charges because the call will be billed as per the existing plan or pack benefits. Vodafone VoLTE services were recently launched in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra & Goa, Haryana, Chennai, UP East, UP West, Karnataka, Punjab and will be extended across the country in a phased manner over the next few months.
Announcing the launch of the Vodafone VoLTE service, Ajit Chaturvedi, Business Head - Kerala, Vodafone India, said, “As a leading telecom services provider in Kerala, we have been making significant investments to expand, upgrade our network and to deploy new technologies, so as to ensure that we provide the finest service experience to our valued customers. Vodafone VoLTE is a big step towards further enhancing our customer experience and enabling our customers in Kerala to explore newer possibilities with their smart devices.”
In a media statement, Vodafone also revealed that it invested over Rs 6,000 crore till date in Kerala circle including more than Rs 200 crore last year. With the investment, it rolled out over 4000 sites in the last one year, which is equivalent to 11 sites per day.
Speaking of Vodafone's VoLTE compatible device list, smartphones from brands such as OnePlus, Xiaomi, Nokia, Huawei, Samsung, Gionee, iPhone, itel, Karbonn, Micromax, Lava, Infinix and Tecno. Recently launched smartphones such as Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 6 (2018), Honor View 10, Apple iPhone X, Tecno Camon i Sky, Lava Z91, Infinix Hot S3 are now compatible with Vodafone VoLTE. Popular devices such as Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, OnePlus 5T already received the support a while back.
