Off late, all the leading mobile phone operators in India have been hiking data plan rates significantly. Following this trend, Vodafone has hiked its prepaid mobile data tariff plans in the Gujarat circle by up to 20 percent.
Vodafone now offers 1 GB 3G data pack for Rs. 297 (28 days validity) as compared to Rs. 249 earlier. This translates to a 20 percent increase in tariff, which can have a significant effect on its millions+ customers.
The telecom giant has also hiked its 1 GB 2G data pack from Rs. 179 to Rs. 199, offering a validity of 28 days. It has also hiked the prices of other data plans, and reduced their validity at the same time. Please have a look at the chart below for more information on the data plan hikes by Vodafone.

| Vodafone Gujarat has also hiked data packs at higher and lower denomination in prepaid segment. | ||
This hike in data tariff plans was predicted by the telecom experts long before as the operators (who participated in the March spectrum auctions) had to shell out close to Rs. 1,10,000 crore. This price hike in data tariff plans will make sure that the operators can pay up their dues to the government.
