Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio yet again topped the list of 4G speeds for the month of April 2017. According to the data released by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Reliance Jio's average download speed stands at 19.12 Mbps in April 2017, more than any other telecom operator in the country. For the uninitiated, TRAI releases the data based on its MySpeed application, in which various users across the country conduct speed tests, same as the Ookla' speed test app.
Jio' speeds are up from 18.48 Mbps obtained in March 2017. While Jio sees an uphill in the speeds, that isn't the case with other operators in the country. Furthermore, Reliance Jio is leading the chart from the last three months, and it is the fourth month.
Following Jio is Idea Cellular which surprisingly offering an average download speed of 13.70 Mbps, which is closely followed by Vodafone India with 13.38 Mbps. Having said that, Bharti Airtel is fourth on the list with an average download speed of 10.15 Mbps. These download speed from operators are in the 4G technology.
If we consider only the 3G technology, Vodafone India leads the list with an average download speed of 5.927 Mbps in April 2017. Bharti Airtel is second on the list with 3.949 Mbps, while Idea Cellular follows it with 3.75 Mbps. BSNL is fourth on the list with over 2.0 Mbps download speed.
Moreover, Reliance Jio is consistently leading the list which would become a bothering to Airtel.
