Telenor India today announced the launch of a pilot to deliver high speed 4G services for its customers in Dhanbad. Subscribers will now experience high speed wireless mobile internet on the company’s advance network architecture and get on to the digital superhighway to cater to their data needs.
The pilot in Dhanbad follows the successful test pilot of Telenor’s 4G services across its 6 circles in Varanasi, Vizag, Amravati, Agra, Anand, Lucknow, Ranchi, Vijayawada, Tenali, Eluru, and Bhimavaram. With this Telenor has moved a step closer to its ambition of Internet for All and becoming the preferred partner in the digital life of its customers.
The high speed 4G data packs are available to customers in three different price points of Rs 11, Rs 148 & Rs 248. At Rs 11, customers get 100 MB 4G data with 1 day validity, while STV 148 offers 1 GB 4G data with tariffs of 25 p/min for all local calls and 30 p/min for STD calls with validity of 28 days. High data users can avail STV 248 which offers 2 GB 4G data with tariffs of 25 p/min for all local calls and 30 p/min for STD Calls with validity of 28 days. Customers can avail these products by walking into any of the fully functional Telenor branded stores and selected retail outlets in Dhanbad.

Telenor announced the modernisation of its entire network in 2015 which should be completed by 2017. Over 10,000 of the total network sites have already been modernised as of now. In Jharkhand of the 1203 sites, 1017 have already been modernised with new equipments. To make its network future ready, Telenor has deployed Lean GSM solutions that improves the network capacity and coverage by nearly 25% using the same spectrum resources and provides superior voice and data experience.
