Tata Docomo, which introduced various firsts in the market few years back is now providing services in collaboration with Bharti Airtel. To retain the subscriber base, Tata Docomo has come up with various new plans starting from Rs 148 and going all the way up to Rs 499. Docomo's latest Rs 148 takes on the incumbent operators aggressive data offerings as the plan gives unlimited voice calls, 2GB of 3G data and 100 SMS per day for a period of 28 days. The struggling telecom operator also has a tariff plan of Rs 229 that provides data benefit better than the private telcos.
Talking about the benefits, the Rs 229 plan provides 1.4GB data per day for 35 days, which takes the overall data benefit to 49GB. The voice calling is not unlimited, instead, Docomo limits the calls to 250 minutes per day, post which the telco will charge 30 paise per minute. And lastly, users can send 100 SMS per day free to any network. Also, do make a note that the roaming incoming and outgoing calls will be free on Tata & own sites, while in other network sites, the calls will be charged as per the base tariff plan. There's no mentioning about the weekly calling limit though.
This plan is not applicable for commercial use, same as other operators tariff plans. Having said that, the data benefit is limited to only 3G network since Docomo did not launch 4G services in the country. The company is currently offering services through Intra Circle Roaming Agreement via Bharti Airtel, so only 3G data has been provided to the telco.
Alongside the Rs 229 plan, Docomo also has a bunch of other unlimited combo plans starting at Rs 148. All these plans offer unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day, but the data benefit differs with each plan. The Rs 499 plan gives 1.4GB data per day for 90 days.
