Tata Docomo, the GSM mobile services from Tata Teleservices has announced the launch of the Android powered Sony Ericsson Xperia x10 with in-built Google Mobile Services like GMail, YouTube, Google Maps and Android Market in India on Tata DOCOMO network as 2nd Android handset from them. Last year Tata Docomo brought Samsung Galaxy as India's 1st Android powered Smartphone.
It is interesting that after launched in November 2009 The Xperia X10 was released in Japan with NTT DoCoMo in April 2010 and has become the quickest-selling smartphone for the carrier.
Sony Ericsson Xperia x10 is a slim stylish touchscreen high end smartphone powered with 1Ghz SnapDragon processor and backed up by 1500mAh battery.
It comes with a massive 8.1 mega pixel camera with up to 16x digital zoom, auto focus, face & smile recognition, Image stabiliser, Geo tagging features. The phone features 4.0 inch touch screen, 16M Colors, 65,356-colour, 480 x 854 pixels FWVGA TFT.
The mobile phone comes with internal memory of 1GB, a free memory card of 8GB and supports upto 32GB. It supports 3G HSPA 7.2Mbps and Wifi 802.11b/g. Webkit browser comes with built in on X10. The phone runs Android 1.6, and an upgrade to Android 2.1 will be available. GPS is available via aGPS.
Third-party applications are available from Android Market, which has nearly 70,000 apps of diverse functionalities, including games, reference, GPS navigation, social networking, and advertising for television shows, films, and celebrities.
