TRAI May Make Per-Second Based Tariff A Must

TRAI has shared possible plans for all telecom service providers to offer a pay-per second tariff plan, in addition to the pay-per minute tariff plans available. Mr J.S. Telecom Regulator-TRAI finalized MNP guidelines

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has today announced that Mobile Number Portability (MNP) will initially start in the country with metros and category ‘A’ circles from 31st December 2009 and the rest of the country by 20 March 2010. BROADBAND SPEED SHOULD BE 2MBPS :TRAI

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has recommended that the Department of Telecom (DoT) should make it mandatory for Broadband speeds to be at least 2 mbps. That means any of Broadband service offered in India to customers in the market would have to be 2 mbps and more. NUMBER OF NEW TELECOM SUBSCRIBERS DIPS IN MAY

WRITTEN CONSENT OF SUBSCRIBERS MUST FOR VAS :TRAI

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) today directed mobile operators to seek written consent from the users who have subscribed to their value-added services (VAS), such as call ring-back tone and hello tunes, in order to prevent accidental activation of such services.
