TRAI May Make Per-Second Based Tariff A Must

TRAI has shared possible plans for  all telecom service providers to offer a pay-per second tariff plan, in addition to the pay-per minute tariff  plans available. Mr J.S. Telecom Regulator-TRAI finalized MNP guidelines

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has today announced that Mobile Number Portability (MNP) will initially start in the country with metros and category ‘A’ circles from 31st December 2009 and the rest of the country by 20 March 2010. BROADBAND SPEED SHOULD BE 2MBPS :TRAI

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has  recommended that the Department of  Telecom (DoT)  should make it mandatory for Broadband speeds to be at least 2 mbps. That means any of Broadband service offered in India to customers in the market would have to be 2 mbps and more. NUMBER OF NEW TELECOM SUBSCRIBERS DIPS IN MAY

The Indian telecom industry saw a marginal dip in the number of new subscribers in the month of  April the same has happened in May with no sign of growth in Subscriber base; India has added 8.3 million mobile subscribers in May taking the total subscriber base to 306.4 million in its GSM telecom networks.
