Voice and conversational AI solutions company SoundHound AI has expanded its advanced voice AI technology to Kia vehicles in India, integrating Hindi as a featured language. Recently launched for the 2025 Kia Carnival and 2025 Kia EV9, the AI-powered assistant delivers seamless voice-enabled experiences in Hindi, a language spoken by over 500 million people, the company announced on Thursday. Kia also plans to extend support to 10 additional regional languages, including Bangla and Punjabi, in a phased rollout for future models.

SoundHound AI Expands into Kia Vehicles
Part of Kia Connect, the smart vehicle platform, SoundHound's AI-powered voice assistant can interpret and respond to conversations in real time, even before the speaker finishes. The company added that the voice assistant can handle complex conversational questions, filtering responses using SoundHound's proprietary Speech-to-Meaning and Deep Meaning Understanding technologies.

Kia’s AI-Powered Voice Assistant Capabilities
SoundHound highlights a range of in-vehicle voice assistant capabilities, such as navigation, calls, and real-time updates on sports scores and weather. The assistant also supports in-vehicle controls, allowing users to play music, lock doors, adjust the temperature, control windows, and more through voice commands.
Hindi Language Support
"By integrating our advanced voice AI into Kia vehicles in India, we're not only providing hands-free convenience but also tailoring the experience to local drivers with support for Hindi, ensuring a more personalised and engaging in-car experience," said Michael Zagorsek, COO of SoundHound AI.
