The already crowded Telecom Space is said to become more crowded and congested soon new operators which as spectrum are said to be launching its service which can lead to a possible tariff war between existing operators.Every operator is getting ready to fight for each and every subscriber.
New telecom players which has received license from January 2008 till February 2009 are likely to roll out services in the next four months with the backing of foreign telcos, service providers like Loop Telecom, Swan Telecom, Unitech Wireless and Sistema Shyam Teleservices have placed orders for equipment and commissioning of networks is at an advanced stage.
Idea Cellular and Shyam-Sistema, a joint venture between Russia's Sistema and Shyam Telelink, is expected to launch services in both Kolkata and West Bengal circles within the next couple of days.Idea is a GSM operator while Shyam-Sistema that has begun operations under MTS brand, is a CDMA operator. Both the operators have already booked space at PS-Srijan Tech Park. Idea Cellular has purchased 50,000 sq ft, Shyam-Sistema has taken 30,000 sq ft on long-term lease.
Loop Mobile which is expected to Start its services in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala by June.The Loop Telecom has been awarded licenses to operate in 21 circles and spectrum for 20 circles in India (Loop Telecom got licences to operate in 21 circles in January 2008).The company will invite a penalty from the Department of Telecom (DoT), if it fails to begin its services within 52 weeks of allocation of spectrum in a circle. It will be given grace period of 13 weeks, but will have to commence its services by July. The Loop Telecom will provide services under the Loop Mobile banner presently Loop Telecom is testing its services in Tamil Nadu and Orissa.

Mobile is going one step behind communication the presence of so many service providers is going to change the rule of the game also, the new players are not going to be pan India and are going to focus on individual circles which is going to lead the customer segmentation in the coming months we can witness a full-fledged war for subscribers in the Indian telecom market. The customer will of course be laughing all the way, with all the operators fighting to get a share of his wallet with innovative schemes and tariffs.
