Samsung has silently introduced the budget Galaxy J4 smartphone in India today. The Samsung Galaxy J4 offers a Super AMOLED display and has a quad-core processor under the hood. But the overall specifications of the smartphone are underwhelming especially considering the asking price of Rs 9,990. The launch news is tweeted by the Mumbai-based retailer, Mahesh Telecom, saying that only the 2GB RAM and 16GB storage variant is available for purchase at the moment. Also, it seems like the smartphone will be exclusive to offline market for now as we were unable to find the listings on e-commerce portals such as Flipkart and Amazon. Samsung did not list the product on Samsung Shop as well.

Samsung Galaxy J4 Specifications and Features
The Samsung Galaxy J4 boasts of a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, and it's a 16:9 panel, not the 18:9 panel as seen on other smartphones releasing these days. At the heart of the phone, we have the quad-core Exynos 7570 processor that delivers performance on par with the likes of Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset, which is used to power the Galaxy J2 (2018).

The Galaxy J4 comes in two memory configurations- one with 2GB of RAM & 16GB of internal storage and the other one with 3GB of RAM & 32GB of onboard storage. Samsung has added a microSD card slot as well for storage expansion up to 256GB. This dual-SIM smartphone comes laden with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, which is a good thing.

Samsung has added features such as Advanced Memory Management, Samsung Mall, Dual Apps, App Pair and Adaptive Wi-Fi onto the Galaxy J4 to enhance the user experience. Cameras in the Galaxy J4 include a 13MP shooter with f/1.9 aperture and a 5MP shooter is present on the front with f/2.2 aperture. Both the front and rear cameras feature an LED flash. Lastly, the phone is backed by a 3000mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy J4 features similar specifications as the Galaxy J2 (2018), except for the latter coming with Snapdragon processor and a slightly smaller battery. We don't have any information available about the sensors at the moment, but most likely, Samsung have ditched all the basic sensors including the Ambient Light sensor.

The offline retailer did not reveal the price of the 3GB RAM variant of the Galaxy J4, but it could be Rs 11,990 itself. Samsung launched the device in three colour options- Blue, Black and Gold.
