Russian national operator Rostelecom has launched its new data centre in the Primorye region. The data centre includes 18 racks and is planned to expand later to 36 racks. The data center has systems in place for uninterruptible power supply, air conditioning, and fire protection, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

Rostelecom's New Data Centre
"The demand for data center services is growing every year, along with the increase in the amount of information both in commercial companies and public institutions. The development of regional data centers is due to the fact that customers need direct communication with the infrastructure and placement of information systems closer to users in the region. This is provided by our regional data centers, including in Primorye," Rostelecom said.
The Russian operator noted that since 2013, all Medical Information Systems (MIS) of Primorsky Krai (Primorye) have been located at Rostelecom sites.

Growing Demand for Data Centre Services
"Over the past 10 years, the volume of informatisation has grown significantly, and today we have 14 such MISs. Not one, but three racks in the data center are used to store electronic databases, which allow us to ensure protection, uninterrupted operation, and increased bandwidth," said the Primorsky Regional Medical Information and Analytical Center.
"At the same time, we understand that in the future, the data bank will only expand, so we are still at the stage of improving the efficiency of the use of health resources through the further development of information technologies in the industry," it added.
