However, post the hikes, the price of the plan was increased to Rs 1199. But now, there's a fresh Rs 999 plan available for customers. This Rs 999 plan has a 'Hero 5G' remark on the website of Jio. The plan is available for all the prepaid customers of Jio in India to recharge now. The older Rs 999 plan used to offer 3GB of daily data, but the new Rs 999 plan offers 2GB of daily data. The Rs 999 plan from Jio comes with 98 days of service validity. A very odd number of days to choose for customers. This 98-day service validity plan comes with unlimited voice calling benefit, 100 SMS/day, and 2GB of daily data. Since it is a plan with 2GB of daily data, it also comes with unlimited 5G data.

The Rs 999 plan's daily cost is Rs 10.19, which is quite expensive compared to what Indians are generally used to using in this validity range. However, it is less costly than before if you only look at it from the perspective of daily cost of using the Rs 999 plan.

Before the tariff hike, the Rs 999 plan came with 84 days of validity and 3GB of daily data. So at that point, the daily cost of using this plan was Rs 11.89. However, the average data cost was much cheaper - at Rs 3.96 for each GB.

Now, with the plan validity extended to 98 days, the average daily cost is cheaper, but the average cost of each GB of data has gone up. With the Rs 999 plan, 1GB of data now costs Rs 10.40, this is 160% (approximately, the actual figure would be higher) costlier than before at Rs 3.96.
