Realme X2 Pro will debut in India this December, confirmed the company's CEO, Madhav Sheth on Twitter. The X2 Pro China launch is set for October 15 and the same smartphone will reach the Indian market later this year. That said, the name of the company's first flagship smartphone seems to be Realme X2 Pro itself and it will launch in India with the same name as well. Notably, Realme has two X series of phones right now in the sub-continent- Realme X and the Realme XT, so the Realme X2 Pro will come as a direct successor to the Realme X that was launched in July this year. Furthermore, in the same tweet, Madhav Sheth also confirmed two key features of the X2 Pro- Snapdragon 855+ SoC and a 90Hz screen, similar to the OnePlus 7T series.
Realme X2 Pro: Features and Specifications Revealed
The Realme X2 Pro will pack high-end hardware and the display will offer 90Hz refresh rate as well. The smartphone will also feature an in-display fingerprint scanner and AMOLED display as well. Rest of the specifications of the Realme X2 Pro could be very much identical to the Realme XT, including the camera setup and design. The Realme XT features a quad-camera setup on the back with the primary sensor being the latest 64MP Samsung GW1 sensor. Other three sensors include an ultra-wide-angle lens, super macro lens and a depth sensor. Right now, the setup seems to be the one present on the Realme XT, but we may see some optimisations being made to deliver flagship performance. To the front, the Realme X2 Pro may have a 32MP selfie camera.
Underneath, the Realme X2 Pro will pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset, clubbed with up to 8GB of RAM and maybe 256GB of internal storage. The phone is said to have a 4000mAh battery and 50W Super VOOC charging support. It's said to run Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6.2 out of the box.
Realme XT 730G Also Launching in December
Very recently, Realme launched a smartphone called Realme X2 in China with impressive mid-range hardware. The Realme X2 is the same Realme XT smartphone the company launched in India, but it features the much powerful Snapdragon 730G chipset. The Realme X2 has an AMOLED screen, in-display fingerprint scanner, quad-camera setup, teardrop notch and a decent 4000mAh battery. But the only difference between the Realme XT and Realme X2 is the Snapdragon 730G chipset.
Having said that, the Realme X2 will be launched in India as Realme XT 730G and it will be aimed at the gamers. However, the name of the phone may not have finalised at the time of the Realme XT launch in India. We're expecting the company to launch two phones in December in India- Realme X2 and the Realme X2 Pro, featuring Snapdragon 730G and Snapdragon 855+ chipsets, respectively. It will be interesting to see how Realme prices these two phones in the Indian market.
The price of the Snapdragon 855 SoC may have come down a little and that could be the reason why the Redmi K20 Pro is available at Rs 24,999 for a few days. It's also expected that Xiaomi will launch a new model of Redmi K20 Pro with Snapdragon 855+ chipset and the Poco F2 may finally see the light of the day to tackle the Realme X2 Pro.
