Xiaomi launched the Poco F1 in India last year under its new Poco sub-brand with a special focus on performance. Owing to this, the Poco F1 also came with a different UI and UX which was facilitated by the Poco Launcher. However, it’s been almost close to a year that Poco F1 users have been using the Poco launcher and now it was time for a change. To bring that, Xiaomi has announced that it will be launching a new version of the Poco launcher. The new Poco launcher is currently available as a beta on the Google Play Store with the name of Poco Launcher 2.0, and it comes with a cleaner look, overall smoother performance, semi-transparent backgrounds, and more. It is also worth noting that initially the Poco launcher used to be limited only to the Poco F1, but now it works on all Android phones.
Poco Launcher 2.0 Beta Version on Google Play Store
Earlier today, the MIUI team of Xiaomi announced on Twitter that the Poco Launcher 2.0 would be available starting today. However, the tweet misses out on a specific date for the launch of the Poco Launcher 2.0, and it doesn’t detail when exactly the stable version of screen replacement app will be available for the users. But, in case you do not want to wait for the stable version, then you can go to the Google Play Store page of the Poco Launcher 2.0 and sign up for the beta version and test out the look and feel of the Poco Launcher 2.0.
Poco Launcher 2.0 to Come with Cleaner, Smoother Look
You should also keep in mind that since the Poco Launcher 2.0 is fairly popular, it is quite possible that the beta testing pool might be full currently and you might have to wait for someone to exit, to try your hands on the beta version of Poco Launcher 2.0. The availability of the beta version of the launcher also means that we don’t have a precise changelog of the Poco Launcher 2.0, but thanks to a video which gives a look at this launcher, we can have some idea about what we can expect from Poco Launcher 2.0.
As per the MIUI team, the Poco Launcher 2.0 is cleaner, smoother, and comes with the support for semi-transparent backgrounds. Also, this time with the second generation of the launcher, users will be able to tweak the transparency of the launcher. There are also going to be more customisation options for the users of Poco Launcher 2.0 like new ways to add more apps to a specific app group, and also the ability to manage app groups via settings.
