Since the start of this month, Oppo has been teasing the Oppo F5 smartphone, and finally, the smartphone goes official at an event in the Philippines. Contrary to the rumours and reports, the Oppo F5 doesn't feature the Snapdragon 660 SoC, instead, Oppo has powered the smartphone with MediaTek MT6763T chipset.

Oppo has been a pioneer in the selfie technology for years now, and the company is now using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in the selfie camera of Oppo F5. Unlike the Oppo F3 series, the Oppo F5 comes with a single 20MP shooter on the front, which also shoots Portrait selfies and yeah, the shooter can also be used to unlock the smartphone as Oppo has added a dedicated Face Unlock feature in the smartphone.

With the Oppo F5, the Chinese vendor also joins the list of the bezel-less trend. The Oppo F5 features a 6-inch 18:9 Full HD+ display and there are minimal bezels on top and bottom.

The Oppo F5 replaces the Oppo F3 in the hardware department. This smartphone is powered by the MediaTek MT6763T chipset, which is a mid-range chipset and also a powerful variant of the MediaTek Helio P23 chipset. The chipset is accompanied with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Oppo has launched three variants of the Oppo F5 and they're largely differentiated by RAM and memory.

The standard Oppo F5 has 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, whereas the premium variant has 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, and lastly, the Oppo F5 Youth Edition has lower RAM and internal storage.

All the three variants are powered by the same chipset, but they come in different colour options. The Oppo F5 runs Android Nougat based ColorOS 3.2, which as per Oppo is a refined version of ColorOS. This entire package is backed by a 3200mAh battery.

Talking about the rear camera setup, the Oppo F5 has a single 16MP shooter at the back. Thanks to the bezel-less display, Oppo has moved the fingerprint scanner to the back of the phone. And it's worth to note that the Oppo F5 resembles the Vivo V7+ which was launched in India back in September.

The Oppo F5 will land in India on November 2. At this moment, it's still unknown which variant of the Oppo F5 will make it to the Indian market. That said, the price of the Oppo F5 is expected to be on the steeper side.
